Power Grid Corporation of India Limited is an Indian central public sector undertaking under the ownership of the Ministry of Power, Government of India. It is engaged mainly in transmission of bulk power across different states of India. It is headquartered in Gurugram. Power Grid transmits about 50% of the total power generated in India on its transmission network.

Tipaimukh Dam, officially "Tipaimukh Multipurpose Hydroelectric Dam Project", is a proposed dam on the Barak River at Tipaimukh in Manipur, India. The purpose of the dam is flood control and hydroelectric power generation. The project was approved by the Government of India in 1999 and entrusted to the North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited, later switched to NHPC Limited. Due to environmental concerns as well as concerns in Bangladesh over downstream effects, the project remains under discussion and no construction has yet taken place.
The Assam State Electricity Board (ASEB) is a State Statutory Body of the state of Assam in India. It is under the ownership of Department of Power, Government of Assam. It manages the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity in the state of Assam with its divisions Assam Power Generation Corporation Limited, Assam Electricity Grid Corporation Limited and Assam Power Distribution Company Limited.
India is 5th globally for installed hydroelectric power capacity. As of 31 March 2020, India's installed utility-scale hydroelectric capacity was 46,000 MW, or 12.3% of its total utility power generation capacity. Additional smaller hydroelectric power units with a total capacity of 4,683 MW have been installed. India's hydroelectric power potential is estimated at 148,700 MW at 60% load factor. In the fiscal year 2019–20, the total hydroelectric power generated in India was 156 TWh with an average capacity factor of 38.71%.
NTPC Limited, formerly known as National Thermal Power Corporation, is an Indian central Public Sector Undertaking under the ownership of the Ministry of Power and the Government of India, who is engaged in the generation of electricity and other activities. The headquarters of the PSU are situated at New Delhi. NTPC's core function is the generation and distribution of electricity to State Electricity Boards in India. The body also undertakes consultancy and turnkey project contracts that involve engineering, project management, construction management, and operation and management of power plants.
The Tuirial is a river of Mizoram and Assam, northeastern India. It is also known as River Sonai, a tributary of Barak River. It flows in a northerly direction towards Cachar district and joins the Barak River at Dungripar Village near Sonai town. It is impounded by the Tuirial Dam.
NTPC Kanti also known as George Fernandes Thermal Power Plant Station is located in Kanti, Muzaffarpur, Bihar. George Fernandes was former Member of Parliament from Muzaffarpur constituency of Bihar. It is wholly owned subsidiary company of NTPC. The share of the company is 100% of the NTPC. The plant was not functional between 2003 and 2013; however, renovation of both older units paved the way for commercial production of electricity by the end of 2013.
Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited (BSPHCL), formerly Bihar State Electricity Board (BSEB) is a state-owned electricity regulation board operating within the state of Bihar in India. BSEB was established in 1958 as a statutory corporation under the Electricity (Supply) Act, 1948. As of November 2012, BSEB has nearly 1,700 officers and 14,850 employees. The derated capacity comes to just 530 MW. The BSEB was unbundled on 2 August 2011. Power Finance Corporation was the main consultant for BSEB's restructuring.
Nabinagar Super Thermal Power Project is a coal-based thermal power plant located at Sivanpur village in Nabinagar taluk in Aurangabad district, Bihar. It was conceptualised in 1989 by the then Chief Minister of Bihar Satyendra Narayan Sinha who sent the proposal to set up a NTPC's super thermal power project at Nabinagar in Bihar's Aurangabad district to then Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi; but the project went into limbo as the following state governments failed to follow it. In 2007, Manmohan Singh's government finally put a stamp of approval on it.
The Nabinagar Thermal Power Station Project (NTPS) of Bhartiya Rail Bijlee Company Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Indian Railways, Ministry of Railways, Government of India. It installs a 4X 250 MW thermal power plant at Nabinagar in Aurangabad district, Bihar, India. Nearly 90 per cent of the electricity generated from the plant is supplied to the railways to meet nationwide requirements and remaining 10 per cent is given to Bihar.
Kopili Hydro Electric Project is a 275 megawatts (369,000 hp), hydroelectric power project on the Kopili river and its tributary, Umrong stream. It is located in Dima Hasao district of Assam state in India. The project is developed and operated by North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited. It is an important project since the indian State of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura benefit from this project.
The Agartala Combined Cycle Power Plant 135 MW is a joint venture between the NTPC and NEEPCO which was completed in 1997–98. It is located in the West Tripura District of the state of Tripura near the capital town of Agartala, India.
Assam Gas based power plant is a combined cycle gas turbine project joint venture of NTPC and NEEPCO, located in the Dibrugarh District of Assam, India. The capacity of this power plant is 291 MW gas turbines steam turbines.
Tripura Gas based Combined Cycle project joint venture of NTPC and NEEPCO is located in the Sepahijala District of the state of Tripura, India around 60 km away from the capital town of Agartala. Capacity of this power plant is 101 MW Gas Turbine & Steam Turbine. Generation began in 2015.
The Doyang Hydro Electric Project is a NTPC NEEPCO owned hydro power project situated on the River Doyang located in the Wokha District of Nagaland. It was commissioned in the year 2000 and the total installed capacity of the project is 75 MW. In the decades since its commissioning, the project has fallen into disrepair. The hydro power project has maintained a housing colony for the employees since its inception. As the state steadily withdraws from public sector enterprises, the maintenance and repairs of the project and the housing colony have suffered. The project remains in a state of steady disintegration, and with the level of malfunctioning of infrastructure, infrastructure asserts its visibility and has become central to the sight. The Doyang Hydro Electric Project is the only major river dam in Nagaland.

Tuirial Hydro Electric Project is NTPC NEEPCO owned project situated on Tuirial river system and is located in the Aizawl district of Mizoram adjoining Cachar district of Assam. Total installed capacity of project is 60(2 x 30) MW.
Kameng Hydro Electric Project is a run-of-the river based project situated on Bichom and Tenga Rivers, both tributaries of the Kameng River in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh. Total installed capacity of project is 600 (4×150) MW. Two units were commissioned in 2020–21 and remain two units are ongoing.
