Northeast India International Tourism Mart (NEITM or ITM) [1] [2] is a tourism event designed to promote the Northeastern region of India, commonly referred to as the North East. Organized by the Ministry of Tourism of the Government of India in collaboration with the hosting state governments and other regional states, the event highlights the unique offerings of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura [3] One of the eight states hosts the event annually.
The first edition of ITM (NE chapter) took place in Assam at Sarusajai Stadium, Guwahati, in January 2013, since then, all the Northeastern states have taken turns hosting the event. In 2024, Assam will host the event for the third time, in the beautiful city of Jorhat, with the celebration taking place at the Kaziranga National Park. [1] [4]
