Owen Township is one of twelve townships in Jackson County, Indiana, United States. As of the 2020 census, its population was 1,588 and it contained 667 housing units. [1] It was named for the local Owen family of pioneer settlers. [2]

According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 54.72 square miles (141.7 km2), of which 54.47 square miles (141.1 km2) (or 99.54%) is land and 0.24 square miles (0.62 km2) (or 0.44%) is water. [4] The streams of Bee Creek, Clear Spring Creek and Little Salt Creek run through this township.
The township contains three cemeteries: Bagwell, Bower, and Scott-Wray. [5]
