Player's Secrets of Baruk-Azhik is an accessory for the 2nd edition of the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing game, published in 1996.
Player's Secrets of Baruk-Azhik is a supplement for the Birthright campaign setting, which focuses on the dwarven domain of Baruk-Azhik, located in the Iron Peaks. [1] The player character is an Overthane who has just been appointed, and now has access to the valuable minerals, gemstones, and Moraskorr ore of the dwarves. The dwarves here are under a constant threat from both of the nearby awnshegh known as the Gorgon and the Chimaera, and another creature rumored to be trapped in a north-western province. A horde of orogs continues to expand beneath the settlements of the dwarves and are an overwhelming army too great for the dwarves to fight alone. [1] The book describes all parts of dwarven life, and includes a brief history of the dwarves as well as their culture and guilds. [1]

David Comford reviewed Player's Secrets of Baruk-Azhik for Arcane magazine, rating it a 9 out of 10 overall. [1] He called Baruk-Azhik "a great volume", observing that unlike the "other Secrets volumes, the adventure hooks provided are original and exciting. As an alien race, the dwarves are not fully understood by the humans that border their lands, and the plots described play on this. In common with the other volumes, though, the layout, artwork and general presentation is excellent." [1] Comford concludes his review by stating that for the price, "this is an essential guide to not only the dwarven realm, but also the dwarven people". [1]

Warhammer: Shadow of the Horned Rat is a single-player fantasy real-time tactics computer game based upon the Warhammer Fantasy Battle table-top game and miniatures. It was developed and published by Mindscape, and released in November 1995 for Microsoft Windows, and on PlayStation in November 1996. The game's story takes place within the Warhammer Fantasy world setting, and focuses on players managing a group of mercenaries, who take on work for various clients but become involved in stopping a plot by the Skaven. The game's main focus is on battles that feature a mixture of medieval warfare and fantasy elements, using a variety of units based upon those from within the Warhammer setting.
Birthright is a Dungeons & Dragons campaign setting that was first released by TSR in 1995. It is based on the continent of Cerilia on the world of Aebrynis, in which the players take on the role of the divinely-empowered rulers, with emphasis on the political rulership level of gameplay. The setting revolves around the concept of bloodlines: divine power gained by heroes and passed on to their descendants. Characters with a bloodline create an aura of command known as Regency, which is measured in the game using regency points or RP. Using regency, characters acquire a domain composed of provinces and holdings. The development of these domains is as much a part of the game as development of the characters. The game uses three-month domain turns to model actions of rulers over nations in much the same way as Dungeons & Dragons uses combat rounds to simulate time to model the characters' actions in battle. In 1996, Birthright won the Origins Award for Best Roleplaying Supplement of 1995.
Moradin is the chief deity in the dwarven pantheon in the Dungeons & Dragons game and is a member of the default D&D pantheon. In 3rd edition, Moradin's domains are Creation, Earth, Good, Law, and Protection. The 5th Edition Players Handbook include Knowledge as a suggested domain. His titles include Soul Forger, Dwarffather, the All-Father, and the Creator. He created the first dwarves out of earthen materials and tutored them in dwarven ways.
A dwarf, in the Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) fantasy roleplaying game, is a humanoid race, one of the primary races available for player characters. The idea for the D&D dwarf comes from the dwarves of European mythologies and J. R. R. Tolkien's novel The Lord of the Rings (1954–1955), and has been used in D&D and its predecessor Chainmail since the early 1970s. Variations from the standard dwarf archetype of a short and stout demihuman are commonly called subraces, of which there are more than a dozen across many different rule sets and campaign settings.
