MTL Trust Holdings was an English bus, coach and train operator based in Liverpool. MTL was originally part of the MPTE. To comply with the Transport Act 1985, the bus operations were divested into a new independent company, Merseyside Transport Limited (MTL). Merseyside PTA retained shareholding, but the company was purchased by its management and staff in 1993. On 17 February 2000, MTL was purchased by Arriva.

The Mercedes-Benz T2 was a transporter manufactured by Daimler-Benz. The T2 is also known as the "Düsseldorf transporter", since it was built in Düsseldorf from 1967 on. The third series, built from 1996 at Ludwigsfelde, was branded the Mercedes-Benz Vario. Some T2s were assembled by Mercedes-Benz España in their Alcobendas assembly plant.

Bendy buses were rarely used in the United Kingdom compared to other countries, until the turn of the millennium. This was historically due to the UK preference for the double-decker bus for use on high capacity routes. As of June 2006, there were over 500 articulated buses in the UK, although they are still heavily outnumbered by double deckers. The majority of this fleet was used in London, although in August 2008 it was announced these buses would be withdrawn by end of 2011.
A2Z Travel was a diversified transportation company operating mainly in the Walsall and Wolverhampton areas of the West Midlands in England. The company also provided some bus services in South Staffordshire and Birmingham. It started in the taxi business in 1998, diversifying into minibus and coach services in 2003, and in 2005 began operating local bus services.
Midland, previously known as Choice Travel, was a bus company operating mostly in the Wolverhampton area of the West Midlands. Some services also operated in the Staffordshire area.
McGill's Bus Services is a bus operator based in West Central Scotland. The company headquarters are situated in Greenock, Inverclyde. The present company was founded in July 2001, restoring the name of a previous operator which had existed between 1933 and 1997. However, there is no connection between the two companies other than their names. The company has grown from an initial fleet of 33 vehicles to operate a network of routes covering much of Inverclyde, East Renfrewshire, Renfrewshire, North Lanarkshire, Glasgow City, and North Ayrshire. A second depot in Barrhead was opened in 2008 but has now closed. Four independent operators were taken over by McGill's in the following three years. McGill's has several depots in Greenock, Coatbridge, Inchinnan, and Johnstone.
