River City Ferries is a public transport company that will commence operating ferry services in Brisbane on 4 November 2020. It is a subsidiary of the SeaLink Travel Group. [1] [2]

River City Ferries will operate 31 vessels serving 25 wharves on the Brisbane River under a ten year contract (with an optional five year extension) with the Brisbane City Council. [3] [4] The company won the contract from the previous operator, Transdev Brisbane Ferries, part of Transdev Australasia, who also operates a number of bus services throughout the state. [1] The contract will see the existing 250 staff retain their jobs. [5] The total value of the contract is A$390 million, an increase from the previous contract, reflecting increased responsibilities of the operator. [4]

It is located on the southern side of the Brisbane River serving the Brisbane suburb of Bulimba. It is served by Transdev Brisbane Ferries' CityCat service and the cross-river service to Teneriffe. It was designed by GHM Addison and Son and built in 1922 by E Taylor. It is also known as Bulimba ferry house and Bulimba waiting shed & landing. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 12 January 2003.
