San Pedro station is a railway station located on the South Main Line in Laguna, Philippines.
Currently, there are 2 stations. The old one, now used as a PNR quarters, used to be the station where passengers can ride trains going to the Bicol region, to the former terminus of the Metro Manila Commuter in Biñan and Calamba stations, and to the former branch line towards Carmona station. It has 3 tracks. One track is the Main Line South, one is the spur line to Carmona, and the other is a loop siding.
In 2010, the tracks of the now abandoned Carmona Branch Line have been dismantled all the way to Carmona station, which was also the terminal of the line.
A new station was constructed in a nearby location near San Vicente Road and was opened in December 2013. As of 2013, there were 6 trips in San Pedro station, 2 northbound trips to Tutuban station and 1 trip southbound going to Santa Rosa station, 1 trip southbound going to Sta. Rosa in the afternoon, and 1 trip northbound going to Tutuban station and 1 last trip for the day going to Sta. Rosa in early evening.
As of October 2018, there were four trips in San Pedro station, two northbound trips to Tutuban, which is in the morning. Those train trips are known as Metro South Commuter Train #456 & #546. 456, which would originate from Mamatid, would arrive at San Pedro on 5:36 AM PHT (UTC+08:00). And 546, from Calamba station, would arrive exactly one hour later (6:36 AM). And two southbound trips from Tutuban station, which is the evening, known as Metro South Commuter Train #1837 and #1907. 1837, terminating at Calamba, would arrive at SPL on 8:11 PM, and 1907, terminating at Mamatid station, would arrive 30 minutes later (8:41 PM). The branch line leading to Carmona is now a target for reconstruction in anticipation for revival of a shuttle service from Dela Rosa in Makati. [2]
San Pedro, formerly known as San Pedro Tunasan, was opened on August 1, 1908 as part of the extension of the Main Line South from Muntinlupa to Calamba, Laguna. It became the first railway station serving the then-town of San Pedro. [3]
The 1908 station was located at the place where the current San Pedro station stands today, but the station platform and building was located opposite of the platform and present station building and had three tracks. One was a refuge siding, one was a siding loop, and the last one was the Main Line. [4] The old station was last renovated in 1972 for the launching of the Metro Manila Commuter Services led by President Ferdinand Marcos. It became the eastern terminus of the San Pedro–Carmona line from its opening in 1973 to its discontinuation in 2000s.
A new station with raised platforms, located west of the MRR counterpart of the station, was opened on December 23, 2013. For the reopening of commuter services to Santa Rosa, the station reopened on October 5, 2016.

The South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), signed as E2 of the Philippine expressway network and R-3 of the Metro Manila arterial road network, is a controlled-access highway that connects Metro Manila to the provinces in the Calabarzon, Mimaropa and Bicol Region on the island of Luzon in the Philippines. The expressway has a length of 49.56 km, traveling from its northern terminus at the Magallanes Interchange in Makati to its southern terminus at Santo Tomas, Batangas, connecting it to the Southern Tagalog Arterial Road. A portion of the expressway from the Magallanes Interchange to the Calamba Exit is part of Asian Highway 26 of the Asian highway network. It will be the longest expressway in the Philippines starting with the completion of Toll Road 4 surpassing the Subic–Clark–Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) as well as providing a gateway to Visayas upon the completion of Toll Road 5.
Rail transportation in the Philippines is currently used mostly to transport passengers within Metro Manila and provinces of Laguna and Quezon, as well as a commuter service in the Bicol Region. Freight transport services once operated in the country, but these services were halted. However, there are plans to restore old freight services and build new lines. From a peak of 1,100 kilometers (680 mi), the country currently has a railway footprint of 533.14 kilometers (331.28 mi), of which only 129.85 kilometers (80.69 mi) are operational as of 2024, including all the urban rail lines. World War II, natural calamities, underspending, and neglect have all contributed to the decline of the Philippine railway network. In the 2019 Global Competitiveness Report, the Philippines has the lowest efficiency score among other Asian countries in terms of efficiency of train services, receiving a score of 2.4, and ranking 86th out of 101 countries globally. The government is currently expanding the railway network up to 1,900 kilometers (1,200 mi) by 2022 through numerous projects.
Santa Mesa station is a railway station located on the South Main Line in the city of Manila, Philippines. It is one of two stations in the line to have its own access road.

Muntinlupa station is a railway station located on the South Main Line in Muntinlupa, Metro Manila, Philippines. The old station was removed together with the I.S. during the clearing operations in 2009. The new station was supposed to be constructed years earlier which was within the proposed Phase 2 of the Northrail-Southrail Linkage Project that should have rehabilitated and double tracked the South Main Line from Sucat to Calamba. The new station's construction started and got finished only on 2013 without the track duplication of the line. The new station was formally opened on December 23, 2013. This station is planned to be the new terminus of the Metro Commuter although there is no confirmation and no specific date yet given by PNR.
Banlic station is an under-construction railway station located on the North–South Commuter Railway in Laguna, Philippines.
The PNR Metro Commuter Line was a commuter rail line operated by the Philippine National Railways. It was first inaugurated as the Metro Manila Commuter Service in 1970, and originally served the North Main Line and the South Main Lines, as well as the defunct Carmona and Guadalupe branch lines. Since then, it adopted several names such as Metrotrak and Metrotren, before adopting its present name in the late 2000s. The line was also nicknamed the Orange Line due to its designation in the 1970s.
San Pedro-Carmona Resettlement station, often shortened to Carmona, sometimes was called General Mariano Alvarez (GMA) station was the terminus of the San Pedro-Carmona Line located in Magsaysay, San Pedro, Laguna. The line was built to serve the Carmona Resettlement Project, which was a part of Carmona, Cavite until the creation of General Mariano Alvarez in 1981. It was located just before San Jose Bridge beside the San Isidro River.
The North–South Commuter Railway, also known as the Clark–Calamba Railway, is a 147-kilometer (91-mile) commuter rail system under construction on the island of Luzon in the Philippines. Running from New Clark City in Capas, Tarlac, to Calamba, Laguna, with 36 stations and four services, the railway is designed to improve connectivity within the Greater Manila Area and will be integrated with the railway network in the region.
The Santa Rosa Integrated Terminal (SRIT), also known as the SM City Santa Rosa Transport Terminal, is a bus station in SM City Santa Rosa in Santa Rosa, Laguna, Philippines. It is the second of three planned provincial intermodal terminals for the south of Manila under a public-private partnership arrangement. Opened on March 26, 2019, the terminal handles province-bound and incoming buses from Calabarzon and the Bicol Region, as well as other provincial buses plying the nautical highway in the south pending the completion of, and as an alternative to, the Taguig Integrated Terminal Exchange.
Pansol station is a railway station located on the South Main Line in Calamba, Laguna, Philippines. The station once had a rail yard with four tracks. The single main line track had a long passing loop that contained another, shorter passing loop. It also contained a refuge which led to a ballast pit. The station is 60 km from Tutuban.
IRRI station is a railway station located on the South Main Line in Los Baños, Laguna, Philippines. It is a flag stop for the line as there are no platforms yet being erected, temporary stairs for the trains are added in the meantime to facilitate loading and unloading.
The PNR South Main Line is one of the two trunk lines that form the Philippine National Railways' network in the island of Luzon, Philippines. It was opened in stages between 1916 and 1938 by the Manila Railroad. Services peaked in the 1940s until the late 1960s, when the system started to decline. Since 1988, it was the only functioning inter-city rail after its counterpart to the north, the North Main Line, was closed. The intercity section of the line in Laguna, Quezon and the Bicol Region was then closed and reopened repeatedly between 2004 and 2014 due to a combination of declining ridership and was closed since then. Currently, only a little more than half of line is operational as the line currently serves two commuter services, namely the Inter-Provincial Commuter from San Pedro to Lucena and the Bicol Commuter regional rail service between Sipocot, Naga Camarines Sur and Legazpi Albay, following the closure of the main line, the PNR Metro Commuter Line between Tutuban station and Laguna.
