Sandra Adair (born 1952) is an American film editor who has worked with director Richard Linklater since 1993. [1]
Sandra B. Adair (born Estrin) was born in Carlsbad, New Mexico, the daughter of Rachel and Herman Estrin. Her family moved to Las Vegas in the early 1960s. [1]
Adair later lived in Los Angeles. In 1978, she married television director and filmmaker Dwight R. Adair (Dallas; Dynasty). [2] In the beginning of her career, she often worked as assistant editor for her brother, Robert Estrin. [1] Together, they worked on films and documentary features such as Desert Hearts (1985), Creation of the Universe (1985), What Happened to Kerouac? (1986) or Internal Affairs (1990). In 1991, she moved to Austin, Texas. Since 1993, she has edited all of Richard Linklater's films, [3] and has co-produced some of them.
Adair received the ACE Eddie Award for her editing of Boyhood (directed by Richard Linklater - 2014). She was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Film Editing for the film.
Adair is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, of American Cinema Editors (A.C.E.) and Austin Film Society.

Richard Stuart Linklater is an American film director, producer, and screenwriter. He is known for making films that deal thematically with suburban culture and the effects of the passage of time. His films include the comedies Slacker (1990) and Dazed and Confused (1993); the Before trilogy of romance films: Before Sunrise (1995), Before Sunset (2004), and Before Midnight (2013); the music-themed comedy School of Rock (2003); the adult animated films Waking Life (2001), A Scanner Darkly (2006), and Apollo 10 1⁄2: A Space Age Childhood (2022); the coming-of-age drama Boyhood (2014); and the comedy film Everybody Wants Some!! (2016).

Robert Clifford Jones was an American film editor, screenwriter, and educator. He received an Academy Award for the screenplay of the film Coming Home (1978). As an editor, Jones had notable collaborations with the directors Arthur Hiller and Hal Ashby. Jones was nominated three times for the Academy Award for Best Film Editing: It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963), Guess Who's Coming to Dinner (1967), and Bound for Glory (1976).
Anne Voase Coates was a British film editor with a more than 60-year-long career. She was perhaps best known as the editor of David Lean's epic film Lawrence of Arabia in 1962, for which she won an Oscar. Coates was nominated five times for the Academy Award for Best Film Editing for the films Lawrence of Arabia, Becket (1963), The Elephant Man (1980), In the Line of Fire (1993) and Out of Sight (1998). In an industry where women accounted for only 16 per cent of all editors working on the top 250 films of 2004, and 80 per cent of the films had absolutely no women on their editing teams at all, Coates thrived as a top film editor. She was awarded BAFTA's highest honour, a BAFTA Fellowship, in February 2007 and was given an Academy Honorary Award, which are popularly known as a Lifetime Achievement Oscar, in November 2016 by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Craig McKay is an American feature film editor, story consultant, director, and executive producer. Kim Roberts, A.C.E., is an American filmmaker who has worked primarily on documentaries as a film editor and writer. Roberts has a master's degree in documentary film production from Stanford University (1996). Her first credit as an editor was for Long Night's Journey into Day (2000), which was directed by Deborah Hoffmann and Frances Reid and that was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. She was credited as both an editor and writer for Great Wall Across the Yangtze (2000), which was directed by Ellen Perry. Her work since then and several of her honors are sketched in the filmography below. Roberts was featured in a New York Times article on film editing in 2012. She has been selected for membership in the American Cinema Editors, which entitles editors to append "A.C.E." to their film credits.
