Dolichopodidae, the long-legged flies, are a large, cosmopolitan family of true flies with more than 8,000 described species in about 250 genera. The genus Dolichopus is the most speciose, with some 600 species.

Ortochile is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It is distributed in the Western Palaearctic realm, including Europe, Turkey, Israel and North Africa. Adults of Ortochile have greatly elongated mouthparts, longer than the height of the head. They are associated with flowers, and have been reported to feed on nectar and pollen. Flower-feeding is also known in some species of Hercostomus.

Cyrtophloeba is a genus of flies in the family Tachinidae.

Chrysotus Genus of flies

Chrysotus is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It is one of the largest genera in the subfamily Diaphorinae, with more than 460 species. However, the genus is probably paraphyletic, and possibly even polyphyletic, with respect to several related genera such as Achradocera, Falbouria and Lyroneurus.

Cymatopus is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. Members of the genus are found on rocky coasts of the Indo-West Pacific.

Eurynogaster is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae, endemic to Hawaii. It is part of the Eurynogaster complex of genera, which also includes the genera Adachia, Arciellia, Elmoia, Major, Sigmatineurum, Sweziella and Uropachys.

Machaerium is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It is distributed in the Western Palaearctic, with a single record from Tanzania in the Afrotropics.

Micromorphus is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae.

Nurteria is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae, found in the Afrotropical realm. Three species are currently known in the genus, but there are also numerous undescribed species of the genus from southern Africa. It was originally described in the subfamily Diaphorinae, though it possesses some features of the Sympycninae.

Sigmatineurum is a genus of fly in the family Dolichopodidae. It is endemic to Hawaii, occurring on all the main islands in the archipelago. It is part of the Eurynogaster complex of genera.

Ozirhincus Genus of flies

Ozirhincus is a Palearctic genus of gall midges, whose larval stages feed predominantly on the seeds of Asteraceae.

Poecilobothrus Genus of flies

Poecilobothrus is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae.

Major is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae, endemic to Hawaii. It contains only one species, Major minor. It is part of the Eurynogaster complex of genera. The generic name is derived from the Latin major ("large"), referring to the extremely large tarsal claws of M. minor.

Microphor Genus of flies

Microphor is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae, subfamily Microphorinae.

Adachia is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae, endemic to Hawaii. It is part of the Eurynogaster complex of genera. The genus is named in honor of Marian Kohn for her work on Hawaiian dolichopodids.

Arciellia is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae, endemic to Hawaii. It is part of the Eurynogaster complex of genera. The genus is named in honor of Robert Cyril Layton Perkins, and incorporates the phonetic sounds of his initials "R.C.L.".

Elmoia is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae, endemic to Hawaii. It is part of the Eurynogaster complex of genera. The genus is named in honor of D. Elmo Hardy.

Uropachys is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae, endemic to Kauai of the Hawaiian Islands. It is part of the Eurynogaster complex of genera.

Sweziella is a genus of flies belonging to the family Dolichopodidae, endemic to Hawaii. It is part of the Eurynogaster complex of genera.
