Sir Ellis Kadoorie Secondary School (West Kowloon) (SEKSS(WK)) is a secondary school in Tai Kok Tsui,Yau Tsim Mong District, [1] Kowloon,Hong Kong.
It was established on 16 October 1916 as The Ellis Kadoorie School for Indians by the Governor of Hong Kong. [2] Its purpose was to educate children of South Asian descent. [3] The school states that its heritage originates from the Kadoorie School set up in Sai Ying Poon in the 1890s. [4]
The initial institution was primary only but secondary levels were added in the 1960s. [4] Form 4 came in 1977,and Form 5 came in 1978. [5] In 1980 the Kadoorie School was divided into separate schools for primary and secondary levels. [3]
In 1994 Sir Ellis Kadoorie Secondary was the sole government-operated secondary school with a programme catering to non-ethnic Chinese students. [5]
As of 2001 [update] its catchment is Hong Kong wide and does not have admission preferences based on location. [6]
Its secondary curriculum uses the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination format. English is the language of instruction. [6] [ needs update ]
In the 2000-2001 school year,35% of the students were of Pakistani origin,26% were of Indian origin,19% were of Filipino origin,10% were ethnic Chinese,and 7% were of Nepalese origin. [6] In 1994,over 50% were of Indian origin. At that time the total number of students exceeded 300. [5]

Tai Kok Tsui is an area west of Mong Kok in Yau Tsim Mong district in the Kowloon region of Hong Kong. The mixed land use of industrial and residential is present in the old area. The Cosmopolitan Dock and oil depots were previously located there. Blocks of high-rise residential buildings have been erected on the reclaimed area to the west,which marked the revitalisation of the area with many restaurants and bars setting up shop. Many of the older residential buildings have been vacated and are set to be replaced by high-rise residential and commercial buildings.
So Kon Po or Sookunpo is an area of Hong Kong Island located south of Causeway Bay and Victoria Park in Hong Kong. It neighbours Caroline Hill and Jardine's Lookout.

Sir Ellis Kadoorie CBE (1865–1922) was a Jewish entrepreneur and philanthropist. He was a member of the wealthy Baghdadian Kadoorie family that had large business interests in the Far East. His brother was Sir Elly Kadoorie,and his nephew was Lawrence Kadoorie. His family were originally Iraqi Jews from Baghdad who later migrated to Bombay,British Raj India in the mid-eighteenth century.
Island Harbourview is one of the largest private housing estates in Tai Kok Tsui,Yau Tsim Mong District,Kowloon,Hong Kong. It is one of the property projects in MTR Olympic station Phase I. Developed by MTR Corporation,Sino Land,Bank of China,Kerry Properties,China Overseas Land and Investment and Capitaland Commercial Limited,it comprises nine high-rise buildings,which were completed in 1998 and 1999. The towers are numbered from one to ten,but there is no tower four due to local superstition.
Florient Rise is a private housing estate in Cherry Street,Tai Kok Tsui,Yau Tsim Mong District,Kowloon,Hong Kong near Olympic station. It was jointly developed by Nan Fung Group and Urban Renewal Authority (URA) in 2008 and completed the construction in May 2009. It comprises three blocks with a total of 522 units.
Charming Garden is a Home Ownership Scheme and Private Sector Participation Scheme court in Mong Kok,Kowloon,Hong Kong,built on reclaimed land of the old Yau Ma Tei Typhoon Shelter. It was jointly developed by Hong Kong Housing Authority and Chevalier Group. It comprises 18 blocks completed in 1998.
