Sitaram Ayurveda Private Limited is a public company which manufactures ayurvedic medicines in Thrissur City of Kerala State. It is the first ayurvedic company in India to get Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Certificate for its production facility in Thrissur City.

History

Sitaram Ayurveda Pharmacy is considered among the oldest Ayurvedic institutes in Kerala. Its history dates back to 1921, when the company started with the blessings of Maharaja of Cochin of erstwhile Kochi princely state, Sir Sri Rama Varma XV.

Activities

The company has a multi-specialty Ayurvedic hospital, which has the facilities to practice all the eight branches (Ashtanga) of Ayurveda as described in Ashtangahridayam in Thrissur City. Amala Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital in Kerala, India

Amala Institute of Medical Sciences is a private medical college near Amalanagar, in Thrissur city, of Kerala state. It is a Christian minority institution established and administered by the Devamatha Province of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), an indigenous religious congregation founded in 1831. Vaidyaratnam Ayurveda College is Ayurveda college situated in Thaikkattussery near Ollur, Thrissur City of Kerala state. The college is affiliated to the Kerala University of Health Sciences and offers B.A.M.S. degree. The course is recognized by the Central Council of Indian Medicines (CCIM) and is of a duration of 5½ years and 12 months compulsory rotatory internship. Students are admitted for the BAMS course from the list of medical entrance examination conducted by the Government of Kerala. The present intake for the degree programme is 40 students.

Vaidyaratnam P. S. Varier (1869–1944) was an Ayurvedic physician from Kerala, India. He is well-regarded as the founder of Kottakkal Arya Vaidyasala, a major Ayurvedic treatment centre in Kerala.

National Research Institute for Panchakarma (NRIP) at Cheruthuruthy in Thrissur district, is the only organisation in the public sector for research and development in Indian systems of medicine, especially Panchakarma related to ayurvedic system. The institute was set up in 1971 on the southern bank of Bharathapuzha river in Cheruthuruthy. The institute comes under the Central Council for Research in Ayurveda and Siddha (CCRAS) of the Department of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The institute is functioning with hospital, laboratories and pharmacy and is undertaking various research activities, especially Clinical Research on Neuromuscular problems and Training programmes to Doctors and Therapists on Panchakarma. The institute also provides intensive training on Panchakarma for Ayurvedic physicians. This institute organises Post-Graduate three-month-long Special Certificate Course in Panchkarma after graduation for Ayurvedic doctors is held twice a year. On 21 October 2010, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare upgraded the institute as a Centre of Excellence.There are opporunities for students who seek to learn and practice Panchakarma course as Masseurs conducted in a gap of every 4-5 years.Seats are limited.Duration of the course is one year.

KP Namboodiris is an ayurvedic medicine manufacturing company situated in Thrissur City of Kerala State in India. It also has an interest in personal care and health care products. The company was started in 1925 by its founder K.P. Namboodiri in Thrissur. The company has a research & development department.

Thrissur Ayurveda cluster is an Ayurveda cluster situated in KINFRA Park in Koratty in Thrissur District. The cluster is meant for a comprehensive development of Kerala brand of Ayurvedic products and train the manufacturers of Ayurveda products on the importance of safety, quality and efficacy. Sreedhareeyam Ayurvedic Eye Hospital

Sreedhareeyam Ayurvedic Eye Hospital and Research Centre Pvt Ltd, Koothatukulam is an Ayurvedic eye hospital and research facility based in Koothattukulam, Ernakulam District, Kerala in India. It specializes in treating eye diseases and ailments through Ayurveda. The 350-bed hospital is situated in a 55-acre (22 ha) campus. Late Dr N P P Namboothiri founded the hospital along with his elder brother Narayanan Namboothiri. Over 400 years of traditional wisdom & extensive clinical experience, handed down through generations was combined with modern diagnostic techniques to create the facility. Dr. Narayanan Namboothiri, MD(Ayu) is the chief physician of Sreedhareeyam now.

J. Hareendran Nair is an Indian Ayurveda physician and entrepreneur from Kerala. He is the founder of Pankajakasthuri group of enterprises, a business group which has contributed in promoting and popularising Ayurveda and ayurvedic products across the country. The Government of India, in 2012, honoured him with Padma Shri for his services to the cause of Ayurveda.

Rajagopalan Krishnan Vaidyan was an Indian ayurvedic physician from the Indian state of Kerala and the president of the Association of Ayurvedic Physicians of Kerala.

Pankajakasthuri Herbals India Private Limited is an Ayurvedic medicine manufacturing company based in Trivandrum, Kerala. Established in 1988, Pankajakasthuri manufactures and develops Ayurvedic products and medicines. Pankajakasthuri is Kerala’s first ISO 9000 certified Ayurvedic medicine manufacturing company.
