Lucia Francisca "Susi" Susanti Haditono is an Indonesia retired badminton player. Relatively small of stature, she combined quick and graceful movement with elegant shotmaking technique, and is regarded by many as one of the greatest women's singles players of all time. She is the first Indonesian Olympic gold medalist.

Michelle Li is a Canadian badminton player from Markham, Ontario. Li is the 2014 Commonwealth Games champion and the first Canadian to win an individual gold medal in women's singles badminton at the Commonwealth Games. She has won gold in both singles and doubles at the Pan American Games, and won the singles and team event titles from the Pan American Badminton Championships. As a competitor for Ontario, Li also won singles, doubles, and mixed team titles at the 2011 Canada Winter Games.
Neslihan Yiğit is a Turkish badminton player. The 178 cm (5.84 ft) tall athlete plays right-handed and is coached by Çağatay Taşdemir at Egospor club of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality. She won the women's singles title at the 2013 Islamic Solidarity Games, 2013, 2018 Mediterranean Games and the women's doubles title at the 2013 Mediterranean Games. Yiğit also won the bronze medals at the 2015 European Games and at the 2021 and 2022 European Championships.

She has been one of the top ranked women's individual and doubles player on the continent and a contender in major international competitions. She is a vice-national champion in women's singles and has won several international titles since 2010.
Stefani Stoeva is a Bulgarian badminton player specializing in doubles. Her current partner is her older sister, Gabriela Stoeva. They competed at the 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics. The duo together have won gold medals in the 2015 European Games and three successive European Championships in 2018, 2021 and 2022 editions. Stefani Stoeva has also won some individual titles in women's singles competition.
The Maldives International is an open international badminton tournament in Maldives organized by the Badminton Association of Maldives and sanctioned by the Badminton Asia Confederation and Badminton World Federation. This tournament has been an International Challenge level before it went into hiatus in 2014. This tournament held at the Malé sports complex, and offered world ranking points with total prize money US$15,000.
Evgeniya Andreevna Kosetskaya is a Russian badminton player. She was the women's doubles silver medalist at the 2015 Baku European Games, and settled the women's singles bronze medal in 2019 Minsk. She competed at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Kunlavut Vitidsarn is a Thai badminton player. He was three-times World Junior champion, winning in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Vitidsarn became the first men's singles player to win three World Junior Championships titles, joining Ratchanok Intanon and Chen Qingchen as a three-time winner of the World Junior title in the same discipline. He claimed the gold medal at the Asian Junior Championships in 2019, where he previously won a silver in 2018 and bronze in 2017. Vitidsarn participated at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics, and was part of the team Omega took the silver medal in the mixed team event. He was named the 2020/2021 Eddy Choong Most Promising Player.

The 2020 BWF World Tour was the third season of the BWF World Tour of badminton, a circuit of 26 tournaments which led up to the World Tour Finals tournament. The 27 tournaments are divided into five levels: Level 1 was the said World Tour Finals, Level 2 called Super 1000, Level 3 called Super 750, Level 4 called Super 500 and Level 5 called Super 300. Each of these tournaments offers different ranking points and prize money. The highest points and prize pool were offered at the Super 1000 level.
