Several different far-left-oriented organizations in Peru refer to themselves as communist (comunista) parties, movements, organizations, groups, etc. Some are still active, under their original or other appellation, some have merged or split, and some have ceased operating.
International Workers' Unity – Fourth International is a Trotskyist international organisation. It has members in Latin America, Western Europe and the CIS, including Izquierda Socialista in Argentina, Unidad Socialista de Izquierda in Venezuela, Corrente Socialista dos Trabalhadores in Brazil and Movimiento pelo Socialismo in Portugal.
The Communist Party of Chile is a Chilean political party. It was founded in 1912 as the Socialist Workers' Party and took its current name in 1922. The party established a youth wing, the Communist Youth of Chile, in 1932.
The Peruvian Communist Party is a communist party in Peru that was founded in 1928 by José Carlos Mariátegui, under the name Socialist Party of Peru. The party changed its name in 1930. In contemporary Peruvian politics, the party is often referred to as the PCP (Unity), to distinguish it from other communist parties that have splintered from the original party, such as the Communist Party of Peru, the Communist Party of Peru (Marxist–Leninist) and the Communist Party of Peru.

The Socialist Unity League is a small Trotskyist group in Mexico. It was formed in 1996 and is close to the US group Socialist Action and the German Revolutionary Socialist League. It is a member of the Socialist Alliance.
The Socialist Party, also known as Socialista Obrero, was a pro-statehood political party in Puerto Rico, that also contemplated independence in the case that entry into the American Union was denied by Congress. The party was concerned with improving the social welfare of Puerto Ricans.
In the context of Mexican politics, a national political association is a citizens' association intended to assist in the development of democratic life and the country's political culture, as well as being intended to create a better informed public opinion. They are similar to political parties; they used to receive public funding through the Federal Electoral Institute (IFE) for the promotion of their activities and ideas, but this was no longer the case after the 2008 political reform; after the 2014 political reform and the transformation of the IFE into INE, only political parties and independent candidates can receive public funding. APNs are not allowed to register candidates for election, though they can publicly support those of other political parties through association agreements and may only do so during federal elections. The creation of an APN is regarded as the first step towards the creation of a full-fledged political party.

Socialists of Catalonia was an electoral alliance formed to contest the 1977 Spanish Congress of Deputies election in Catalonia, comprising both the Socialist Party of Catalonia–Congress (PSC–C) and the Catalan Socialist Federation (PSOE). It was dissolved in 1978 when its two components merged with the Socialist Party of Catalonia–Regrouping (PSC–R) into the Socialists' Party of Catalonia (PSC).
