Tangxun Lake,formerly Tangsun Lake,is a freshwater lake between Hongshan District and Jiangxia District in southeastern Wuhan,the capital of Hubei Province,China. It is south of Wuhan's Third Ring Road and north of its Fourth Ring Road. Tangxun Lake is the largest lake completely enclosed by a city in Asia. [1] [2]
Before a 1997 decision by the Jiangxia District government,Tangxun Lake was called Tang-Sun Lake. According to tradition,two families surnamed Tang and Sun lived in two of the bays of the lake,hence the name Tang-Sun Lake. [3] [2]
As of May 2014,due to the expansion of Wuhan,Tangxun Lake was recognized as the largest lake in Wuhan in the official Wuhan Lake Records (武汉湖泊志). [2] Tangxun Lake surpassed East Lake and claimed the title of the 'Largest Lake entirely within a City in China and Asia'. [4]
Tangxun Lake is the site of recreation and residential areas,including man-made peninsulas extending into the lake. The Tangxun Lake Recreational Area is divided into three recreational areas:'Rural' Park (including a fishing center);Water Sports Recreation Area (combination of tourism and competitive sports;yacht racing area,rowing center and swimming pool);and Summer Recreational Area,(business center,office buildings,news center,a layer of shopping center,swimming pool,professional training and the gym,etc). [5] The scenic spots are both connected and relatively independent. The Tangxun Lake Resort Area was developed by the Hubei Huatai Land Industry Co.,Ltd. [6]
Tangxun Lake Railway Station and Miaoshan Railway Station,located on the northern and southern shores of Tangxun Lake are stops on the Wuhan–Xianning intercity railway. [7]
The Science and Technology Park of Huazhong University of Science and Technology is located on the north shore of Tangxun Lake. Wuhan Donghu University was established on the western shore of Tangxun Lake in 1980. [8] Wuhan Institute of Design and Sciences was established on the eastern shore of Tangxun Lake in 2015. [9]
Wuchang forms part of the urban core of and is one of 13 urban districts of the prefecture-level city of Wuhan,the capital of Hubei Province,China. It is the oldest of the three cities that merged into modern-day Wuhan,and stood on the right (southeastern) bank of the Yangtze River,opposite the mouth of the Han River. On the left bank it borders the districts of Dongxihu to the north,Hanyang to the northeast,and Hannan to the south;on the opposite bank,Jiangxia and Hongshan. It also borders Xiaogan to the northwest and Xiantao to the southwest.
Huangpi District is one of 13 urban districts of the prefecture-level city of Wuhan,the capital of Hubei Province,China,situated on the northern (left) bank of the Yangtze River. The Sheshui enters the Yangtze at Huangpi. The district is primarily rural,but also includes important infrastructure facilities,such as Wuhan Tianhe International Airport and Wuhan North Railway Station,which is one of the main freight stations and classification yards on the Beijing–Guangzhou Railway. It is the northernmost of Wuhan's districts as well as the most spacious. On the left bank of the Yangtze,it borders the districts of Xinzhou to the east,and Jiang'an to the south,and Dongxihu to the southwest;on the opposite bank,it borders Hongshan. It also borders the prefecture-level cities of Huanggang to the northeast and Xiaogan to the northwest. The Sheshui enters the Yangtze River at Shekou in Huangpi.
Xinzhou is one of 13 urban districts of the prefecture-level city of Wuhan,the capital of Hubei Province,China,covering part of the city's northeastern suburbs and situated on the northern (left) bank of the Yangtze River. It is also the easternmost of Wuhan's districts. It borders the districts of Hongshan to the southwest and Huangpi to the west,as well as the prefecture-level cities of Huanggang to the north and east and Ezhou to the south.
Hanchuan is a county-level city in east-central Hubei province,People's Republic of China. It is under the administration of Xiaogan prefecture-level city. The city's urban area is located on the left bank of the Han River a few tens of kilometres upstream from Wuhan. East Lake is a large freshwater lake within the city limits of Wuhan,China,the largest or the second largest urban lake in China. Wuhan's East Lake covers an area of 88 square kilometers. It is one of the 5A tourist zones of China,and admits over a million people yearly. It is one of the largest sites in Huazhong District. It is also the largest "City Lake" in China. East Lake is made of four areas,Ting Tao,Moshan,Luo Yan Island and Museum of Hubei Province.
Liangzi Lake,originally Fan Lake,is a freshwater lake in the southeast of Hubei Province,divided between the Liangzihu Scenic Spot Office of Jiangxia District,Wuhan and the Liangzihu District of Ezhou City. This rural area south of Wuhan,situated in the south bank of the middle reaches of Yangtze River. The lake is 370 km 2,with a drainage area of 3265 km 2,an elevation of 20 m,length 31.7 km and mean width 9.6 km. The shoreline of lake is highly indented.
Donghu New Technology Development Zone,also referred to as Optics Valley or Guanggu,is a New Technology Development Zone in Wuhan,China. It was established in 1988. In 1991 it was approved as one of the National Economic and Technological Development Zones of China. In 2011 it was designated as a New Technology Development Zone for Optical technology,and since then self-labeled as the "Optics Valley" of China.
Huilong is a town under the administration of Hanchuan City in east-central Hubei province,China,situated 16 kilometres (9.9 mi) northeast of Xiantao and about 70 km (43 mi) west of Wuhan. As of 2011,it has one residential community (居委会) and nine villages under its administration.
Guanshan Subdistrict is a subdistrict in Hongshan District,Wuhan,Hubei,China. To the east it borders the Donghu New Technology Development Zone;to the south it borders Jiangxia District and the Third Ring Road;to the west it borders Zhuodaoquan Subdistrict;to the north it borders the East Lake Nature Scenic Area. The subdistrict encompasses the campuses of more than ten universities including Huazhong University of Science and Technology,China University of Geosciences,South Central University for Nationalities,Zhongnan University of Economics and Law,and Wuhan Textile University (武汉纺织大学).

Wuhandong railway station,once called Liufang station(Chinese:流芳站) is a railway station located in Jiangxia District,Wuhan,Hubei Province,China. The new railway station opened on August 12,2022. It is served by Line 2 and Line 11 of the Wuhan Metro.

Huanggang East railway station is a railway station in Huangzhou District,Huanggang,Hubei,China. It was built as a terminus station at the eastern end of the Wuhan–Huanggang intercity railway. With the completion of the Huanggang–Huangmei high-speed railway,it became an intermediate stop on the railway between Wuhan and Huangmei.
古时,湖边有两个湾,湾里分别住着姓汤和姓孙的人家,湖名便叫汤孙湖。1997年,江夏区政府为招商引资,让湖名更响亮、更现代,将"孙"字加了一个"走之底",改名"汤逊湖"。
