American rapper and singer Travie McCoy has released two solo studio albums and twenty-four singles, including fifteen as a featured artist.

In early May 2010, McCoy released the hit single "Billionaire" with Bruno Mars, which was successful in Europe and the US. McCoy released his first solo album, Lazarus , which included the song, on June 8, 2010. [1] [2] McCoy had been working in the project for the past year and a half. The album debuted at number 25 on the US Billboard 200 chart with sales of 15,000 copies. On August 21, 2010 Lazarus was released in Europe and entered the UK Albums Chart at number 69. "Need You" was the second single from the album in the US, released in September 2010. "We'll Be Alright" was released on October 25, 2010, as the second single in the United Kingdom. On July 15, 2022, McCoy released his second studio album, Never Slept Better. [3] [4] [5] [6] The album was supported by the singles "A Spoonful of Cinnamon" and "Loved Me Back to Life", which were also made accompanying music videos. [7] Despite releasing to mainly positive reviews, neither the album nor any of its singles charted in the United States or Europe.

Lazarus is the debut studio album by American rapper Travie McCoy released on June 8, 2010. McCoy announced his plans to pursue a solo career in early 2010, although he insisted that Gym Class Heroes had not broken up. After creating demos of melancholy and low-tempo songs, McCoy decided to abandon his early material and start over, as he claimed the songs were "too personal". He began to write more uptempo "party anthems" with lyrical themes of overcoming grief. Musically, McCoy draws from various influences on the record, including hip hop, reggae, and rock.

He formed the band Gym Class Heroes with childhood friend Matt McGinley; after several line-up changes, the group was signed to Fueled by Ramen, which released their debut album.

This song was originally written for Australian singer Kylie Minogue's album Aphrodite, but plans fell through. However, Cruz and Minogue recorded a version of the song for the European release, while American rapper Travie McCoy recorded guest raps for the American release. The Brazilian and United Kingdom versions have parts of McCoy's rap mixed into the Minogue version. The version on Cruz's albums feature a solo vocal by Cruz with no guest vocalist and an edited version of the solo version was added to Radio Disney's playlist.
