U. S. B. Dale's Market, also known as B & S Discount Foods, is a historic commercial building located near Morganton, Burke County, North Carolina. It was built about 1900 as a neighborhood grocery store for the Grant Dale community. It is a one-story, rectangular, flat-roofed, brick building with a stepped parapet. It is a rare intact example of a rural community store. [2]

Old Salem is a historic district of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, United States, which was originally settled by the Moravian community in 1766. It features a living-history museum which interprets the restored Moravian community. The non-profit organization began its work in 1950, although some private residents had restored buildings earlier. As the Old Salem Historic District, it was declared a National Historic Landmark (NHL) in 1966, and expanded fifty years later. The district showcases the culture of the Moravian settlement in the Province of North Carolina during the colonial 18th century and post-statehood 19th century via its communal buildings, churches, houses and shops.

The institute was named after Alice Freeman Palmer, former president of Wellesley College and benefactor of Dr. Brown.

He specialized in Italianate villas and country houses, churches, and institutional buildings. His most famous building—the octagonal mansion "Longwood" in Natchez, Mississippi—is unfinished; construction was abandoned during the American Civil War.

The Davis–Adcock Store is a historic general store located at Wilbon, North Carolina, a crossroads north of Fuquay-Varina, in Wake County, North Carolina. The building was constructed in 1906, and is a one-story, frame, gable-front building, with a standing-seam metal roof and a stepped-parapet false front. The community store served not only as a local distribution center for goods and services, but also as a center of community social life. The building also housed the local post office from 1906 until 1925.
The Apex Town Hall, called Apex City Hall in the National Register of Historic Places is a historic town hall at 237 N Salem Street in the historic district of downtown Apex, North Carolina. It was built in 1912 after the June 12, 1911, fire destroyed several downtown buildings including the previous home of the town hall, Poe Brother's Store.

Marshall High School is a historic high school building located at Marshall, Madison County, North Carolina. It was designed by noted Raleigh architect Frank B. Simpson and built in 1926. It is two-story-plus-basement, U-shaped brick building with a low hip roof in the Colonial Revival style. Marshall High School continued to serve the community until a new high school was built in 1973. The building was damaged in a flood in 2004, and was subsequently renovated starting in February 2007.
