Mobile is a city and the county seat of Mobile County, Alabama, United States. The population within the city limits was 187,041 at the 2020 census, down from 195,111 at the 2010 census. After a successful vote to annex areas west of the city limits in July 2023, Mobile's population increased to 204,689 residents. It is now the second-most-populous city in Alabama, after Huntsville.

The Alabama Claims were a series of demands for damages sought by the government of the United States from the United Kingdom in 1869, for the attacks upon Union merchant ships by Confederate Navy commerce raiders built in British shipyards during the American Civil War. Windham Springs, also known as Oregonia, Wyndham Springs, or Windhams Springs, is an unincorporated community in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, United States. Windham Springs is named after the resort at the sulfur springs founded by Levi Windham in 1850. The area was once home to a two-story hotel building and several cabins. The hotel and springs were visited by many people for the springs' reputed healing qualities. During the Civil War, the hotel was looted by the Union Army. In May 1917, the hotel, a church, and multiple houses were destroyed in a tornado. A post office operated under the name Oregonia from 1848 to 1907.

Union Hill, also known as Wolff, is an unincorporated community in the eastern portion of Morgan County, Alabama, United States. It is one of the highest points on Brindlee Mountain, part of the Appalachian Mountain Range. The area consists of Union Hill School, Union Hill Senior Center and New Canaan Baptist Church. It also hosts Station #2 of the Brindlee Mountain Fire Department, as well as Lecroy's, a popular restaurant up the road from the school. The broadcast tower for radio station WRSA Lite 96.9 is also located in Union Hill. A post office operated under the name Wolff from 1899 to 1905.
