We Still Don't Trust You is a collaborative studio album by the American rapper Future and the American record producer Metro Boomin. It was released on April 12,2024,through Freebandz,Epic Records,Boominati Worldwide, and Republic Records. The album contains guest appearances from the Weeknd,Chris Brown,Brownstone,Ty Dolla Sign,J. Cole,Lil Baby, and ASAP Rocky. Production was primarily handled by Metro himself. It serves as the second collaborative album between him and Future, following We Don't Trust You ,which was released exactly three weeks before.
A double album, the first disc of the album strays away from the hip hop and trap genres present in its predecessor,in favor of an R&B style, while the second disc is stylized as a mixtape, similar to Future's earlier projects. It received generally favorable reviews, debuting at the top of the US Billboard 200. Its title track, with the Weeknd, was sent to Italian radio airplay on April 19,2024,as the album's lead single.
In January 2023,Metro Boomin first teased news of a collaborative album with Future. [1] Metro later promised that a collaborative album between him and Future would be released that year, which did not occur. [2]
Two collaborative albums were announced by Future and Metro on March 8,2024,the first album being We Don't Trust You ,with a release date of March 22 announced, alongside the release date of a second album on April 12. [3] The journalist Elliott Wilson further confirmed the information. [4] On April 4,Future and Metro formally revealed the album's title and release date through a trailer, showing the duo in white suits. [5] Metro later took to Twitter to confirm that We Still Don't Trust You is its own project, and not a deluxe edition of We Don't Trust You. [6] [7] They formally revealed the album's cover art on April 10,2024. [8] A day later, they revealed the album's tracklist. [9]
The music video for its title track was released on April 13,2024. [10] It was serviced to Italian on April 19,2024,as the album's lead single. [11]
Musically,We Still Don't Trust You is noted for expanding out of the duo's "customary hip-hop and trap" genres, [12] in favor of a trap-influenced R&B sound. [13] The album's first disc further incorporates elements of synth-pop, [12] [14] while its second disc is noted as returning to the trap music present in We Don't Trust You. [15]

According to the review aggregator Metacritic ,We Still Don't Trust You received "generally favorable reviews" based on a weighted average score of 65 out of 100 from 4 critic scores. Writing for Clash ,Robin Murray wrote that in comparison to its prequel, the album is "even more bloated" despite the positives the album carries. Murray noted that although there are several memorable tracks,"there’s a huge amount [of songs] that simply passes you by" due to a lack of structure and substance. [17] Sputnikmusic 's Dakota West Foss wrote that the album has "little to offer" and wrote that the length of the album feeds into the negative review, describing it as "somewhat of a tortuous war of attrition". Foss concluded his review as he stated that the album is "airy" and "forgettable" and that the album is a prime example of "quantity over quality". [19]
