Powelton Club is located between US 9W, Interstate 84, Balmville Road and Chestnut Lane in the hamlet of Balmville, New York, United States, just north of the city of Newburgh, in the Town of Newburgh. Originally established as an archery club, it is one of the five oldest golf courses in the state, and the ten oldest in the U.S. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1999.
The West Chop Club Historic District is a historic district in Tisbury, Massachusetts, on the island of Martha's Vineyard. The district represents a well-preserved planned summer resort community of the late 19th century. Located in and around Iroquois Avenue, the district encompasses the northernmost portion of West Chop, a peninsula that separates Vineyard Sound and the sheltered waters of Vineyard Haven Harbor, an area that was developed by the West Chop Land Company in the 1880s. The land is now owned by the West Chop Land Trust and managed by the private West Chop Club. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.
Alvarado Terrace Historic District is a designated historic district in the Pico-Union district of Los Angeles, California. It is located southwest of Downtown Los Angeles, along Alvarado Terrace between Pico Boulevard and Alvarado Street.
The Wianno Historic District is a historic district in the Osterville section of Barnstable, Massachusetts. It encompasses a well-preserved summer resort area for the wealthy that was first developed in the late 19th century, focused around the Wianno Club, built in 1881 on the site of an earlier resort hotel. The 40-acre (16 ha) district has a significant number of well-preserved Shingle style and Colonial Revival houses. Architect Horace Frazer designed the Wianno Club, as well as a number of the private residences in the district. The district is roughly bounded by East Bay Road, Wianno and Sea View Avenues between Nantucket Sound and Crystal Lake. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.
The Col. Charles Codman Estate is a historic house on Bluff Point Drive in Barnstable, Massachusetts. Built in 1870, the house is a well-preserved example of a summer seaside resort house in Queen Anne/Shingle style. It was designed by Boston architect John Sturgis, and modified in the early 20th century, adding some Colonial Revival elements. The estate was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in March 1987, and it was included in the Cotuit Historic District in November 1987.
The Ausable Club, in St. Huberts, New York, is the name of a club and the clubhouse of the Adirondack Mountain Reserve (AMR), which upon the initiative of William George Neilson, formed in 1887 to save the lands around Beede's Hotel from the lumber industry. The Reserve once owned most of the Adirondack High Peaks. The club is also the home of the Adirondack Trail Improvement Society, known as A.T.I.S, which developed and still maintains many of the trails to the high peaks. The clubhouse property, also known as St. Hubert's Inn, Beede House, or Beede Heights Hotel, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Dunbar–Stearns House is a historic house at 209 Linden Street in Waltham, Massachusetts. This 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame house was built c. 1846 by Peter Dunbar, and was originally Greek Revival in character. It had a fully pedimented gable, with a single-story porch that was supported by columns that apparently wrapped around the building. The house was purchased in 1892 by Joseph Stearns, who had the house completely remodeled to achieve its present Queen Anne styling. It was enlarged to the sides by incorporating the area of the side porticos, a turret was added to the front, and the pedimented gable was covered with decorative shingle styling. Interior alterations into the new style were equally extensive.
The Sulgrave Club is a private women's club located at 1801 Massachusetts Avenue NW on the east side of Dupont Circle in Washington, D.C. The clubhouse is the former Beaux-Arts mansion on Embassy Row built for Herbert and Martha Blow Wadsworth and designed by noted architect George Cary. During World War I the Wadsworth House was used as the local headquarters for the American Red Cross.
The Water Witch Club Casino is located at the corner of East Twin Road and West Twin Road in the Monmouth Hills section of Middletown Township in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. It is near the Waterwitch section of the borough of Highlands. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 13, 1990, for its significance in architecture and entertainment. It was listed as a contributing property of the Water Witch Club Historic District in 2004.
The Outing Club is located in the central part of Davenport, Iowa, United States. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1977. In 1985 it was included as a contributing property in the Vander Veer Park Historic District.
West End Wheelmen's Club, also known as the Franklin Club and Knights of Columbus, is a historic clubhouse located at Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1897, and is a three-story, rectangular frame Shingle Style building. It features a wraparound porch and porte cochere. The rear of the building was rebuilt after a fire in 1913.
The Stotesbury Club House is a historic, American clubhouse that is located in Wyndmoor in Springfield Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
The Louis Cabot House is a historic house on Windmill Hill Road in Dublin, New Hampshire. Built in 1887, it is a distinctive local example of Shingle style architecture, and was the centerpiece of the large country estate of industrialist Louis Cabot. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
The Woodman Road Historic District of South Hampton, New Hampshire, is a small rural residential historic district consisting of two houses on either side of Woodman Road, a short way north of the state line between New Hampshire and Massachusetts. The Cornwell House, on the west side of the road, is a Greek Revival wood-frame house built c. 1850. Nearly opposite stands the c. 1830 Verge or Woodman House, which is known to have been used as a meeting place for a congregation of Free Will Baptists between 1830 and 1849.
The Kineo Cottage Row Historic District encompasses a collection of seven summer resort cottages on the Mount Kineo peninsula, which juts into Moosehead Lake in central Maine. The cottages were built between 1900 and 1912 as part of the Mount Kineo resort complex, one of interior Maine's most successful summer resorts of the early 20th century, and are its only major surviving component. The cottages were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.
The Lucerne Inn is a historic hotel and restaurant at 2517 Main Road in Dedham, Maine. Its main house built in 1818 and repeatedly enlarged and renovated, the Lucerne Inn has served travelers for nearly 200 years. In the 1920s it was the centerpiece of an ultimately unsuccessful effort to develop a resort catering to the wealthy on nearby Phillips Lake. The inn was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
Hyde's Hotel, also known as Hyde Manor, was a major summer resort hotel on Vermont Route 30 in Sudbury, Vermont. The remnants of the hotel, its main house built in 1865, are now deteriorating and partially collapsed. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
The Megunticook Golf Club is a private recreational club at 212 Calderwood Lane in Rockport, Maine. Its principal features are a Craftsman-style clubhouse and a nine-hole golf course, designed in 1912 by Warren H. Manning. The club was organized in 1899, and is one of the state's oldest recreational clubs, and is home to the state's oldest surviving private golf course. Its facilities were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.
Grouselands, also known more recently as the Waterman Farm, is a historic farm and country estate on McDowell Road in Danville, Vermont. The main house is a distinctive and rare example of Shingle style architecture in northern Vermont, and is the product of a major redesign of an Italianate farmhouse built in the 1860s. The house and immediate surrounding outbuildings were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
Cathedral Historic District, originally the Sioux Falls Historic District, is located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Named for its centerpiece and key contributing property, the Cathedral of Saint Joseph, the district covers the neighbourhood historically known as Nob Hill, where multiple prominent pioneers, politicians, and businessmen settled in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. These homes primarily reflect Queen Anne and Mediterranean Revival architectural styles. In 1974, the neighborhood was listed as a historic district on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP); at the time of this listing, there were 223 buildings, not all contributing, within the district's boundaries. The district was enlarged in 2023.
