The discography of Zucchero, an Italian rock blues singer-songwriter, consists of 15 studio albums, one soundtrack album, seven compilation albums, two live albums and more than sixty singles. In 1993, Zucchero has also released a studio album with the band Adelmo e i suoi Sorapis, also including Equipe 84's Maurizio Vandelli and Pooh's Dodi Battaglia. [1]
Zucchero's first two studio albums didn't reach commercial success and failed to chart in Italy, while 1986's Rispetto entered the Top 10 in his home country, where it sold more than 220,000 copies. [2] Its follow-up, titled Blue's , became the best-selling album in Italy of 1987, [3] while 1989's Oro Incenso & Birra was certified eight-times platinum in Italy. [4] For the latter as of 2015 are reported sales of over 8 million copies worldwide. [5]
In 1991, Zucchero released his self-titled compilation, featuring the English-language version of some of his biggest hits, including the single "Senza una donna (Without a Woman)", a duet with Paul Young which charted in the Top 5 in the United Kingdom and United States and topped the European Hot 100. The album Spirito DiVino , released in 1995, has sold more than 2.5 million copies worldwide [6] and was certified Platinum by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry for European sales exceeding million units. The following studio albums were also million selling.
As of 2017, Zucchero has released 10 Italian number-one studio albums, including his last effort Black Cat , and 4 Italian number-one compilation albums, including 1996's The Best of Zucchero Sugar Fornaciari's Greatest Hits, which was certified triple platinum in Europe, and 2004's Zu & Co. , which was also certified platinum in Europe.
Zucchero has sold over 50 million records around the world. [7]

Adelmo Fornaciari, more commonly known by his stage name Zucchero Fornaciari or simply Zucchero, is an Italian singer, musician and songwriter. His stage name is the Italian word for "sugar", as his primary school teacher used to call him. His music is largely inspired by gospel, soul, blues and rock music, and alternates between Italian ballads and more rhythmic R&B-boogie-like pieces. He is credited as the "father of Italian blues", introducing blues to the big stage in Italy. He is one of the few European blues artists who still enjoys great international success.
Elisa Toffoli , performing under the mononym Elisa, is an Italian singer-songwriter. She is one of the few Italian musicians who write and record mainly in English. She draws inspiration from many genres such as pop, alternative rock, electronica and trip hop. In Europe she is perhaps most recognised for the single "Come Speak to Me", while American audiences may recognise the song "Dancing" as featured in both the 2006 and 2007 seasons of So You Think You Can Dance. On 18 December 2012, her collaboration with Ennio Morricone, "Ancora qui", was featured in Quentin Tarantino's film Django Unchained and on its soundtrack album, which was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media.
The Federazione Industria Musicale Italiana (FIMI) or the Federation of the Italian Music Industry is an umbrella organization that keeps track of virtually all aspects of the music recording industry in Italy. It was established in 1992, when major corporate labels left the previously existing Associazione dei Fonografici Italiani (AFI). During the following years, most of the remaining Italian record labels left AFI to join the new organisation. As of 2011, FIMI represents 2,500 companies operating in the music business.

Its title represents a pun on "oro incenso e mirra", the Italian for "gold, frankincense and myrrh", with mirra being replaced by birra, meaning beer.
