Ioan Gabor Șnep is a retired Romanian rower. Competing in coxed pairs and coxed fours he won silver medals at the 1988 Olympics and 1989 and 1991 world championships. After retiring from competitions he worked as a rowing coach. His wife Doina Șnep, sister-in-law Anișoara Bălan and brother-in-law Valentin Robu are also retired Olympic rowers.

Marioara Trașcă is a retired Romanian rower. Competing in coxed fours and eights she won three medals at the 1984 and 1988 Olympics and three world titles in 1986–1987.

She also won the world title in women's eight in 1989. Her sister Doina Șnep-Bălan is married to Ioan Snep; both are Olympic rowers. The sisters often competed at the same tournament but in different crews.
