The African Cup of Champions Clubs 1988 was the 24th edition of the annual international club football competition held in the CAF region (Africa), the African Cup of Champions Clubs. It determined that year's club champion of association football in Africa. The tournament was played by 37 teams and was used a playoff scheme with home and away matches.

Contents

Entente de Sétif [n 1] from Algeria won that final, and became for the first time CAF club champion.

Abdelhakim Serrar is an Algerian former professional football player who won the African Nations Cup in 1990 and is one of a few that won the Afro-Asian Cup for both club and country. Serrar played as a central defender throughout his career for Entente sportive de Sétif. He is currently the president of ES Sétif, and since his presidency the club has been arguably one of the best teams in the division, if not the best. He retired from football on 1 July 1991 at the age of 30.
