The 1978 African Cup of Champions Clubs was the 14th edition of the annual international club football competition held in the CAF region (Africa), the African Cup of Champions Clubs. It determined that year's club champion of the association football in Africa.
The tournament was played by 24 teams and was used a playoff scheme with home and away matches. Canon Yaoundé from Cameroon won that final, and became for the second time CAF club champion.

Canon Sportif de Yaoundé, commonly known as Canon Yaoundé, is a Cameroonian professional football club based in the capital city of Yaoundé. The club was formed in 1930 and play their games at Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo. Their most successful period was in the 1970s and 1980s when they were a dominant force in Cameroonian and African football, winning eight national championships, eight Cameroonian Cups, three African Champions' Cups and one African Cup Winners' Cup.
The 2004 CAF Champions League was the 40th edition of the CAF Champions League, the Africa's premier club football tournament prize organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). Enyimba of Nigeria defeated Étoile du Sahel of Tunisia in the final to win their second title.

The 2002 CAF Cup marked the 11th edition of Africa's then-tertiary club football tournament organised by CAF for clubs that finished as runners-up in their domestic leagues. The final was played over two legs at Stade du 5 Juillet, Algiers, Algeria and at Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo, Yaoundé, Cameroon. The competition was won by algerian club JS Kabylie, who defeated TKC of Cameroon after an aggregate result of 4–1. This victory made JS Kabylie the first and only team to win the CAF Cup three consecutive times, a feat that allowed them to permanently retain the trophy.
The 2000 African Cup Winners' Cup was the twenty-sixth season of Africa's second oldest club football tournament organised by CAF.
The 2000 CAF African Cup Winners' Cup Final was contested in two-legged home-and-away format between Zamalek and Canon Yaoundé, The first leg was hosted by Zamalek at Cairo Stadium in Cairo on 26 November 2000, while the second leg was hosted by Canon Yaoundé at Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo in Yaoundé on 10 December 2000.
