To determine the five best runners-up from the first qualifying round, only the results against the winners and third-placed teams in each group were taken into account and the following criteria apply:

  1. higher number of points obtained in these matches
  2. superior goal difference from these matches
  3. higher number of goals scored in these matches
  4. fair play conduct of the teams in all group matches in the first qualifying round
  5. drawing of lots

The four group champions played the knockout stage in the Centre sportif de Colovray Nyon, Nyon, Switzerland from 28 to 31 July 2011. [3] There were two semifinals, a third place match and the final. The pairings were determined by the regulations, there was no draw held for the finals.

2010 UEFA European Under-19 Championship was the second round of qualifications for the final tournament of 2010 UEFA European Under-19 Championship. The 28 teams that advanced from the qualifying round were distributed into seven groups of four teams each, with each group contested in a round-robin format, with one of the four teams hosting all six group games. The seven group-winning teams automatically qualified for the final tournament in France.

The 2010 UEFA Women's Under-17 Championship football tournament took place between 8 April and 26 June. Germany was the defending champion. Spain won the final on penalties 4–1 against the Republic of Ireland.

2009 UEFA European Under-17 Football Championship is the first round of qualifications for the Final Tournament of UEFA U-17 Championship 2009. The qualifying round was played between September 15 and October 28, 2008. The 52 teams were divided into 13 groups of four teams, with each group being contested as a mini-tournament, hosted by one of the group's teams. After all matches have been played, the 13 group winners and 13 group runners-up will advance to the Elite round. If two or more teams are tied in points, a tie-break will apply according to the following criteria:

  1. Higher number of points obtained in the group matches played among the teams in question;
  2. Superior goal difference resulting from the group matches played among the teams in question;
  3. Higher number of goals scored in the group matches played among the teams in question;
  4. If, after having applied criteria 1. to 3., two teams still have an equal ranking, criteria 1. to 3. will be reapplied to determine the ranking of the two teams. If this procedure does not lead to a decision, criteria 5. and 6. will apply.
  5. Results of all group matches:
    1. Superior goal difference.
    2. Higher number of goals scored.
  6. Drawing of lots.

The 2012 UEFA Women's Under-17 Championship was the fifth edition of the UEFA Women's Under-17 Championship. The tournament serves as a qualifier to the 2012 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup. The first qualifying matches were played on 29 September 2011, the final was played on 29 June 2012.
