Sun Tiantian and Nenad Zimonjić were the defending champions, but Sun chose not to participate. Zimonjić partnered with Anna-Lena Grönefeld, but lost in the first round to Cara Black and Leander Paes.
Julien Benneteau and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga defeated Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski in the final, 6–2, 6–4 to win the doubles tennis title at the 2009 Shanghai Masters.
Bob and Mike Bryan were the defending champions, but lost in the first round to Ivo Karlović and Frank Moser. It marked the first time the Bryan brothers lost in the first round of a Grand Slam tournament since the 2001 Australian Open, a span of 42 Grand Slam tournaments, and their first opening round loss at the US Open since 1999.

Martina Hingis and Sabine Lisicki defeated Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina in the final, 4–6, 6–4, [10–5] to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2014 Miami Open. It was their first title together, and they saved 7 match points en route, in the quarterfinals. With the victory, Lisicki claimed her third doubles title overall, while it was the 38th for Hingis, and the first since her second professional comeback in the summer of 2013. The pair entered the tournament via a wildcard.
Lucie Hradecká and František Čermák were the defending champions, but Čermák chose not to participate this year. Hradecká played alongside Mariusz Fyrstenberg but lost in the second round to the eventual champions Anna-Lena Grönefeld and Jean-Julien Rojer.
Simone Bolelli and Fabio Fognini defeated Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut in the final, 6–4, 6–4, to win the men's doubles tennis title at the 2015 Australian Open. Bolelli and Fognini's victory earned them their first Grand Slam doubles title and their third title overall as a pair. They became the first all-Italian team to win a Grand Slam since Nicola Pietrangeli and Orlando Sirola at the 1959 French Open.
Martina Hingis and Leander Paes defeated defending champions Kristina Mladenovic and Daniel Nestor in the final, 6–4, 6–3, to win the mixed doubles tennis title at the 2015 Australian Open. The victory earned both Hingis and Paes their second Grand Slam mixed doubles title and their first title together as a new pairing. This was also Hingis's first Grand Slam title since making her comeback from retirement in 2013.
Feliciano López and Marc López defeated Bob and Mike Bryan in the final, 6–4, 6–7(6–8), 6–3 to win the men's doubles tennis title at the 2016 French Open.
Henri Kontinen and Heather Watson were the defending champions, but lost in the final to Jamie Murray and Martina Hingis, 4–6, 4–6. This was the second Wimbledon mixed doubles title for both Murray and Hingis. This was the first time since 1934 that both teams in the final featured a British player.
Barbora Krejčíková and Kateřina Siniaková defeated Nicole Melichar and Květa Peschke in the final, 6–4, 4–6, 6–0 to win the ladies' doubles tennis title at the 2018 Wimbledon Championships. They became the first team to win the Channel Slam since Kim Clijsters and Ai Sugiyama in 2003, and the first team to win both the Wimbledon junior and senior doubles titles together.
Jamie Murray and Martina Hingis were the defending champions, but Hingis retired from professional tennis at the end of 2017. Alexander Peya and Nicole Melichar won the title, defeating Murray and Victoria Azarenka in the final, 7–6(7–1), 6–3.
Abigail Spears and Juan Sebastián Cabal were the defending champions, but lost in the quarterfinals to Tímea Babos and Rohan Bopanna.
Latisha Chan and Martina Hingis were the defending champions, but Hingis retired from professional tennis at the end of 2017 and Chan could not participate due to a medical condition.
