The Garena Premier League (GPL) was a professional League of Legends esports league with teams in Southeast Asia. It was founded in 2012. The opening event took place on May 5 with Riot's CEO Brandon Beck, VP of Gaming Dustin Beck, Taiwanese game designer Jeff Lin, and Nikasaur attending personally. It is the first regional professional esports competition of League of Legends in the world. The League of Legends Master Series (LMS) was a professional League of Legends league with teams from Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau from 2015 to 2019. Eight teams competed over two seasons to qualify for the League of Legends World Championship. In September 2019, Riot announced that the LMS would merge with the League of Legends SEA Tour (LST) to create a new professional league for all Garena-affiliated regions except Vietnam, the Pacific Championship Series (PCS).

ahq eSports Club Taiwanese esports organization

ahq eSports Club was a Taiwanese esports organization based in New Taipei City. It was best known for its League of Legends team which competed in the League of Legends Masters Series and later the Pacific Championship Series. After winning the 2015 LMS Summer Playoffs, AHQ qualified for the 2015 World Championship, where they placed fifth to eighth after losing to SKT T1 in the quarterfinals.

The Vietnam Championship Series (VCS) is a professional League of Legends esports league run by Riot Games and Garena. From 2013 to 2017, the VCS was a tier below Garena Premier League (GPL). In 2018, the VCS broke away from the GPL and became a separate tier one league. The Vietnamese teams have the opportunity to participate directly in international events of League of Legends organized by Riot Games without having to participate in the GPL.

The 2019 LST season is the professional League of Legends tournament for the Southeast Asia region. In the spring, the best teams from 4 minor regions participate to determine which team is the best in the region. The summer, also known as Globe Conquerors Manila 2018 (GCM), is the new professional League of Legends league for the entire Southeast Asia region, replaces the Garena Premier League (GPL), with 8 teams from 5 countries participating to determine which team is the best in the region.

The 2013 Vietnam Championship Series A Winter Season is the first split of the first season of Vietnam's fully professional League of Legends league after renaming from Glorious Arena.

The 2014 Vietnam Championship Series A Spring Season is the second split of the first season of Vietnam's fully professional League of Legends, With the sponsorship of Dell, the tournament is known as Dell Championship Serie A.
