Garena is a Singaporean game developer and publisher of free online games. It is the digital entertainment arm of parent company Sea Ltd, which was formerly named Garena.
The Garena Premier League (GPL) was a professional League of Legends esports league with teams in Southeast Asia. It was founded in 2012. The opening event took place on May 5 with Riot's CEO Brandon Beck, VP of Gaming Dustin Beck, Taiwanese game designer Jeff Lin, and Nikasaur attending personally. It is the first regional professional esports competition of League of Legends in the world. In last season - 2018 Spring - the league consists of 5 teams who are the champions of 5 national leagues in Southeast Asia. The top four teams of group stage are advanced to the playoff, which are held in a best-of-5 single elimination system.
The League of Legends Master Series (LMS) was a professional League of Legends league with teams from Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau from 2015 to 2019. Eight teams competed over two seasons to qualify for the League of Legends World Championship. In September 2019, Riot announced that the LMS would merge with the League of Legends SEA Tour (LST) to create a new professional league for all Garena-affiliated regions except Vietnam, the Pacific Championship Series (PCS).
Arena of Valor, formerly Strike of Kings, is an international adaptation of Honor of Kings, a multiplayer online battle arena developed by TiMi Studio Group and published by Level Infinite for Android, iOS and Nintendo Switch for markets outside Mainland China. As of September 2018, the game has grossed over $140 million outside China. Arena of Valor was one of six Esports video games featured at the 2018 Asian Games, 2019 Southeast Asian Games, 2021 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, and 2021 SEA Games as part of the competitive sport. Arena of Valor was published in other regions by Garena, DeNA, Actoz SG, and TiMi Studio Group.

The Pacific Championship Series (PCS) is a professional esports league for League of Legends teams competing in the Asia-Pacific. Riot Games, the game's developer, created the league on 19 December 2019. This followed an announcement three months prior by Garena – the game's distributor in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, and Southeast Asia – that it planned to merge the League of Legends Master Series (LMS) and League of Legends SEA Tour (LST) into a single tournament jointly run with Riot Games.

SEM9 is a professional esports organisation based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was founded on 14 January 2020 by Kevin Wong Yew Joon, its current CEO. It has teams competing in PUBG Mobile, Garena Free Fire, League of Legends, and Sim Racing. It previously had teams competing in Call of Duty: Mobile and League of Legends: Wild Rift. The organisation also operates SEM9 Senai, an esports-themed hotel located in Senai, Johor, Malaysia.

The spring split was a fully professional League of Legends league over all of the Southeast Asia region, with 16 teams from 5 countries/areas to determine which team is the best in the region. The event was replaced by the 2018 SEA Tour, also known as Globe Conquerors Manila 2018 (GCM), for the summer split. It had 8 teams from 5 countries participating to determine which team is the best in the region.
The 2019 LST season is the professional League of Legends tournament for the Southeast Asia region. In the spring, the best teams from 4 minor regions participate to determine which team is the best in the region. The summer, also known as Globe Conquerors Manila 2018 (GCM), is the new professional League of Legends league for the entire Southeast Asia region, replaces the Garena Premier League (GPL), with 8 teams from 5 countries participating to determine which team is the best in the region.
