Convergence: A League of Legends Story is a 2023 Metroidvania video game developed by Double Stallion and published by Riot Forge. Players control an inventor who can manipulate time. It is a spinoff of League of Legends and was released for Windows, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
Players control an inventor named Ekko who comes from the fictional city of Zaun in the League of Legends franchise. Convergence is a Metroidvania video game, a subgenre of platform games that encourage exploration through a side scrolling world. Players can use Ekko's inventions for several purposes: reversing time to prevent Ekko from missing a jump or taking damage in combat; remotely flip switches; slow down time to make it safer to get past dangerous hazards; teleport; and attack enemies from a distance. On Metacritic, the Windows and PlayStation 5 versions received positive reviews, [9] [10] and the Switch version received mixed reviews. [11] GamesRadar called it an excellent Metroidvania-style game whose dystopian setting "is only held back by its slightly cartoonish" graphics. [2] Polygon said it is "a great adventure" as long as players do not expect it to be similar to Arcane , an animated adaptation of League of Legends with the same setting. [12] Siliconera called it "an excellent blend of 2D parkour platforming and brawling" and said it will likely appeal to gamers who have not played League of Legends. [13] GamingBolt, who felt it is "a compelling side-story for Ekko", praised the gameplay and visuals. [14]
20XX is an indie action platform video game developed by American indie studio Batterystaple Games. The early access version was released for Microsoft Windows on Steam on October 12, 2016, and in full on August 16, 2017. PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One versions were released in July 2018. A sequel, 30XX, was released on Steam Early Access on February 17, 2021, and in full on August 9, 2023.
Ori and the Blind Forest is a platform-adventure Metroidvania video game developed by Moon Studios and published by Microsoft Studios. Super Bomberman R is an action-maze game developed by Konami and HexaDrive and published by Konami. The Mummy Demastered is a Metroidvania video game released in October 2017 by WayForward Technologies based on the 2017 film The Mummy. It takes place concurrently with the events of the film, with players playing as an unnamed Prodigium soldier under the command of Dr. Henry Jekyll who must fight the evil forces of Princess Ahmanet. The Messenger is a 2018 action-platform game created by indie developer Sabotage Studio and published by Devolver Digital. The player controls the eponymous ninja, who is appointed by a great hero to deliver a scroll. As the Messenger explores levels and defeats enemies, he gains a currency called Time Shards used to purchase useful upgrades and abilities. The game begins as a linear adventure featuring elements of time travel, with the audio and visuals changing from an 8-bit style to 16-bit to represent the ninja's journey from the past to the future. In the second half, The Messenger becomes a Metroidvania-style game where the player revisits previous levels to find key items.

Shining Resonance Refrain is an action role-playing video game developed by O-Two Inc. and published by Sega. Originally developed by Media.Vision, it is an entry in Sega's Shining series of video games, and an expanded and remastered version of the Japan-only Shining Resonance released for the PlayStation 3 in 2014. Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth is a 2021 action role-playing video game developed by Team Ladybug and co-published by Playism and Why so serious? for Microsoft Windows. It is based on Ryo Mizuno's Record of Lodoss War series, taking place before the events of The Crown of the Covenant. Controlling the high elf Deedlit, who finds herself in a strange interconnected labyrinth filled with her past foes and companions, the game focuses on exploration and searching for items and power-ups in the vein of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, fighting bosses and minibosses. During gameplay, the player also locates two elemental spirits and swaps between each one.
Rogue Legacy 2 is a platform video game developed and published by Cellar Door Games. It is the sequel to 2013's Rogue Legacy, and the game was released for Windows via early access in August 2020.
