The 2015 Silverstone GP2 and GP3 Series rounds were a pair of motor races that were held on 3 and 5 July 2015 at the Silverstone Circuit in the United Kingdom as part of the GP2 Series and GP3 Series. It was the fifth round of the 2015 GP2 season and the third round of the 2015 GP3 season. The race weekend supported the 2015 British Grand Prix.

Related Research Articles

Rapax Team was an Italian motor racing team. The team's history can be traced back to when the GP Racing team was founded in 1997, and also to when Piquet Sports was created in 2000 by triple world champion Nelson Piquet. In 2007, Piquet Sports and GP Racing merged to create "Minardi Piquet Sports". In 2008, the team dropped "Minardi" from their name. In early 2009, the team was sold and rebranded as Piquet GP, but changed its name again in November to Rapax Team, once all remaining ties to part-owner Piquet were cut.

The 2010 GP3 Series season was the first season of the GP3 Series, a feeder series for the GP2 Series. The championship was contested over sixteen races held at eight rounds, beginning on 8 May at Circuit de Catalunya and ending on 12 September at Autodromo Nazionale Monza. Ten teams were announced, running three cars each.

The 2012 GP3 Series season was the third season of the GP3 Series, a feeder series for the GP2 Series. The season began at Barcelona on 12 May and concluded at Autodromo Nazionale Monza on 9 September after eight rounds made up of two races each and all in support of European Formula One Grands Prix.

The 2011 British GP2 round was a GP2 Series motor race held on 9 and 10 July 2011 at Silverstone Circuit in Silverstone, United Kingdom. It was the fifth round of the 2011 GP2 Season and the fourth round of the 2011 GP3 Season. The race supported the 2011 British Grand Prix.

Sergey Olegovich Sirotkin is a Russian professional racing driver who competed in Formula One in 2018 for the Williams team. He was also the reserve driver for Renault in 2019 and 2020.

2012 Silverstone GP2 and GP3 Series rounds

The 2012 Silverstone GP2 Series round and the 2012 Silverstone GP3 Series round was a group of motor races held at the Silverstone Circuit in Great Britain for the GP2 and GP3 Series championships. The races, held on 7 and 8 July, were in support of the British Formula One Grand Prix. The GP2 races were the seventh round of the 2012 GP2 championship, while the GP3 races formed the fourth round of the 2012 GP3 season.

2013 Catalunya GP2 and GP3 Series rounds

The 2013 Catalunya GP2 Series round was a GP2 Series motor race held at the Circuit de Catalunya in Montmeló, Spain on 11 and 12 May 2012 as the fourth round of the 2013 GP2 Series season. The weekend also saw the first round of the 2013 GP3 Series season, and the debut of the GP3 Series' second-generation chassis, the Dallara GP3/13.

The 2014 GP2 Series season was the forty-eighth season of the second-tier of Formula One feeder championship and also tenth season under the GP2 Series moniker, a support series to the 2014 Formula One World Championship. Russian Time were the defending team champions.

The 2015 GP2 Series season was the forty-ninth season of the second-tier of Formula One feeder championship and also eleventh season under the GP2 Series moniker, a championship for open-wheel racing cars run as a support series to the 2015 Formula One World Championship. Twenty-six drivers representing thirteen teams raced over eleven rounds, starting in Bahrain on 18 April and finishing in Abu Dhabi on 29 November.

2016 GP2 Series

The 2016 GP2 Series season was the fiftieth season of the second-tier of Formula One feeder championship and also twelfth and final season under the GP2 Series moniker, a motor racing feeder series that was run in support of the 2016 FIA Formula One World Championship. It was the final season run under the "GP2 Series" name, with the championship being rebranded as the FIA Formula 2 Championship from 2017. It was also originally scheduled to be the final season for the Dallara GP2/11 chassis that was introduced in 2011 and the Mecachrome 4.0 litre V8 normally-aspirated engine package that débuted in the maiden season of the series in 2005 before a brand new chassis and engine package was introduced for 2017, however due to another cost-cutting, the series announced it would keep the current chassis and engine package for one more season.

The 2016 British Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race that was held on 10 July 2016 at the Silverstone Circuit in Silverstone, United Kingdom. This race was the seventy-first running of the British Grand Prix, the first having been held in 1926, and was the tenth round of the 2016 FIA Formula One World Championship and the fiftieth time that the race was held at the Silverstone Circuit since the Formula One series inception in 1950.

The 2016 Catalunya GP2 and GP3 Series rounds were a pair of motor races held on 14 and 15 May 2016 at the Circuit de Catalunya in Spain. They were the first round of the 2016 GP2 season and 2016 GP3 season, respectively. The race weekend supported the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix.

2016 Monaco GP2 Series round

The 2016 Monaco GP2 Series round was a pair of motor races held on 27 and 28 May 2016 at the Circuit de Monaco, Monte Carlo, Monaco as part of the GP2 Series. It was the fourth round of the 2016 GP2 Series and was run in support of the 2016 Monaco Grand Prix. The first race, a 40-lap feature event, was won by Russian Time driver Artem Markelov after starting from 15th position. Norman Nato finished in second for Racing Engineering and MP Motorsport's Oliver Rowland took third. 2017 Formula 2 Championship

The 2017 FIA Formula 2 Championship was the fifty-first season of the second-tier of Formula One feeder championship and also the first season under the moniker of FIA Formula 2 Championship, a motor racing championship run in support of the 2017 FIA Formula One World Championship.
