The 2018 WeatherTech Raceway California 8 Hours was the second edition of the WeatherTech Raceway California 8 Hours race held on WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on 28 October 2018. The race was contested with GT3-spec cars, GT Cup-spec cars, GT4-spec cars, MARC cars and TCR-touring cars. The race was organized by the Stéphane Ratel Organisation (SRO).
The second annual California 8 Hours is the fourth and final round of the 2018 Intercontinental GT Challenge.

NOTE: The No. 42 Strakka Racing Mercedes-AMG GT that had finished eighth overall, and first in GT3 Pro-Am, was disqualified under after driver Nick Leventis was found in violation of FIA doping regulations. Leventis' urine sample was taken to the Sports Medicine Research & Testing Laboratory at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah, where it tested positive for anastrozole (an exogenous aromatase inhibitor, prohibited under S4.1 of the FIA Anti-Doping Code), drostanolone and related metabolite 2α-methyl-5α-androstan-3α-ol-17-one, which are exogenous anabolic 3 androgenic steroids, prohibited under S1.1.a of the FIA Anti-Doping Code). The results were altered on 26 June 2019 after an official report of the positive test. [14]
The 2017 FIA World Endurance Championship was the sixth season of the FIA World Endurance Championship, an auto racing series co-organised by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) and the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO). The series is open to Le Mans Prototypes and grand tourer-style racing cars divided into four categories. The season began at the Silverstone Circuit in April and will end at the Bahrain International Circuit in November, and include the 85th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. World championship titles will be awarded to the leading prototype drivers and manufacturers, while for the first time in the World Endurance Championship the leading grand touring drivers and manufacturers will also be awarded a world championship.

The 2018 FIA GT Nations Cup was the first edition of the FIA GT Nations Cup held at Bahrain International Circuit on 1 December 2018. The race was contested with GT3-spec cars. Only Silver and Bronze drivers were allowed to compete. The event promoters were the Bahrain Motorsport Federation (BMF) and the Stéphane Ratel Organisation (SRO). For the following year the event was reformatted as the multi-discipline FIA Motorsport Games.
The 2018 IMSA Michelin SportsCar Encore was the inaugural edition of the non-championship sports car race held at Sebring International Raceway on 9 November 2018. The race was contested with LMP3 cars, GT3-spec cars, GT4-spec cars and TCR-touring car. The event was organized by the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA).
The 2019 Pirelli GT4 America Series was the inaugural season of the GT4 America Series. It took over the GTS class of the Pirelli World Challenge, which adopted global GT4 technical regulations in 2018, and it is a Blancpain GT World Challenge America support series. GT4 America Series is split into a Sprint series, which features 50-minute races with one driver per car, and a SprintX series, which features one-hour races with two drivers per car and a mandatory driver change during Pit stops. DXDT Racing is a professional sports car team based in Statesville, North Carolina, founded by competitive off-shore sailor and businessman David Askew in 2014. With an early history in IMSA's Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge and Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America, the team now primarily races in SRO America's GT World Challenge America, continuing a long term run as a Mercedes AMG Customer Racing team.
