The 2021 UMB World Three-cushion Championship was the 73rd edition of the tournament. It took place from 7 to 11 December 2021 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. [1]

Straits of Tiran Straits between the Sinai and Saudi Arabia

The Straits of Tiran are the narrow sea passages between the Sinai and Arabian peninsulas which separate the Gulf of Aqaba from the Red Sea proper. The distance between the two peninsulas is about 13 km. The body is named after Tiran Island, located at its entrance 5 or 6 km from the Sinai. Sharm El Sheikh Memorandum

The Sharm El Sheikh Memorandum, full name: The Sharm El Sheikh Memorandum on Implementation Timeline of Outstanding Commitments of Agreements Signed and the Resumption of Permanent Status Negotiations was a memorandum signed on September 4, 1999 by Prime Minister of Israel Ehud Barak and PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat at Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt, overseen by the United States represented by Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. The memorandum was witnessed and co-signed by President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt and King Abdullah of Jordan.

The 2005 Sharm El Sheikh bombings were committed by Islamist group Abdullah Azzam Brigades on 23 July 2005 in the Egyptian resort city of Sharm El Sheikh, at the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula. Eighty-eight people were killed by the three bombings, the majority of them Egyptians, and over 200 were injured, making the attack the deadliest terrorist action in the history of Egypt, until it was surpassed by the 2017 Sinai mosque attack.

Metrojet Flight 9268 was an international chartered passenger flight, operated by Russian airline Kogalymavia. On 31 October 2015, at 06:13 local time EST, an Airbus A321-231 operating the flight was destroyed by a bomb above the northern Sinai Peninsula following its departure from Sharm El Sheikh International Airport, Egypt en route to Pulkovo Airport, Saint Petersburg, Russia. All 224 passengers and crew on board were killed. The cause of the crash was most likely an onboard explosive device as concluded by Russian investigators.

2018 Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations International football competition

The 2018 Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations was the third edition of the Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations (BSAFCON), the premier beach soccer championship in Africa contested by men's national teams who are members of the Confederation of African Football (CAF). World Youth Forum is an international NGO founded in 2017 based in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. WYF's statement message is "sending a message of peace, prosperity, harmony, and progress from the youth to the entire world". The forum was sponsored early on and held under the auspices of the president of Egypt, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, who agreed in November of 2017 during a peace marathon that the forum would be held annually.

Márcia Alves Lopes is a Cabo Verdean rhythmic gymnast who represented Cape Verde at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She was the first Cape Verdean athlete to qualify for the 2020 Olympic Games.
