The 2022 Silverstone FIA Formula 2 round was a motor racing event held between 1 and 3 July 2022 at Silverstone Circuit, Silverstone, United Kingdom. It was the seventh round of the 2022 FIA Formula 2 Championship and was held in support of the 2022 British Grand Prix.
After collecting a total of 12 penalty points, Amaury Cordeel was suspended for the Silverstone round and was replaced by David Beckmann. [1] It was the first time in Formula 2 since 2019 that a driver was suspended for an entire weekend, following Mahaveer Raghunathan's ban in the 2019 Spielberg Formula 2 round due to repeatedly erratic driving.
Logan Sargeant took his maiden Formula 2 pole position, which was the first for Carlin since Yuki Tsunoda's pole at the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix. Sargeant qualified ahead of Frederik Vesti and championship leader Felipe Drugovich, who set the same time as championship rival Théo Pourchaire. Drugovich was given precedence, as he set the lap time first. [2]

Ralph Boschung is a Swiss racing driver currently competing in the 2023 FIA Formula 2 Championship for Campos Racing. He is a race winner in the GP3 Series and has previously competed in Formula 2 from 2017 to 2023, for Campos, MP Motorsport and Trident.
Richard Bastiaan Verschoor is a Dutch racing driver currently competing for Van Amersfoort Racing in the Formula 2 Championship. Verschoor graduated to Formula 2 in 2021 with MP Motorsport before switching to Charouz Racing System, and moved to Trident for 2022 after two years in the FIA Formula 3 Championship with MP Motorsport.
Jehan Daruvala is an Indian racing driver currently driving for MP Motorsport in Formula 2 and acting as reserve driver for the Mahindra Racing Formula E team. He was a protégé of the Force India F1 team, after being one of three winners of a 'One in a Billion hunt' organized by the team in 2011. He is also a former member of the Red Bull Junior Team.
Robert Mikhailovich Shwartzman is a Russo-Israeli racing driver who currently serves as a reserve driver for the Scuderia Ferrari Formula One team. He is also set to compete in the 2023 GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup, driving for AF Corse. Shwartzman last competed in the FIA Formula 2 Championship in 2020 and 2021 where he finished 4th and 2nd respectively. Felipe Drugovich Roncato is a Brazilian-Italian racing driver who is current test and reserve driver for Aston Martin and McLaren in Formula 1. He is the 2018 Euroformula Open champion and the 2022 Formula 2 champion.
Liam Lawson is a New Zealand motor racing driver who currently competes in the 2023 Super Formula Championship with Team Mugen. Lawson, who is mentored by three-time New Zealand Grand Prix winner Ken Smith, previously competed for the Carlin team in the FIA Formula 2 Championship. He is a previous Toyota Racing Series champion and member of the Red Bull Junior Team, In 2021, he also raced for the Red Bull AF Corse team in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters, partnering Alex Albon, narrowly missing out on the championship in the last round.
