The 2022 Spa-Francorchamps FIA Formula 2 round was a motor racing event held between 26 and 28 August 2022 at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Stavelot, Belgium. It was the eleventh round of the 2022 FIA Formula 2 Championship and was held in support of the 2022 Belgian Grand Prix.
After competing in the previous two rounds, David Beckmann was announced to replace Jake Hughes at Van Amersfoort Racing for the remainder of the season. [1] Beckmann was partnered by Amaury Cordeel, who returned to the series after serving his ban during the Hungary round.
Campos Racing driver Olli Caldwell was suspended from the eleventh round at Spa-Francorchamps after incurring twelve penalty points across the first ten rounds. This was second time a driver received a race ban in 2022, following Cordeel's in the previous round. Caldwell was replaced by Lirim Zendeli, who last raced in 2021 for MP Motorsport. [2] [3] Zendeli partnered Ralph Boschung, who returned from an extended period of injury. [4]
Cem Bölükbaşı terminated his contract with Charouz Racing System by mutual consent prior to the Spa-Francorchamps round. His seat was taken by IndyCar Series racer Tatiana Calderón, who returned to Formula 2 after competing for BWT Arden in 2019. [5]
Felipe Drugovich took his third pole position of this season by nearly four tenths of a second, ahead of fellow Brazilian driver Enzo Fittipaldi and Logan Sargeant. [6]

It was founded in 2006 in order to compete in the GP2 championship, which was Europe's second highest-ranking single-seater formula below Formula One. Trident is headquartered at San Pietro Mosezzo in the Piedmont region of Italy.

Ralph Boschung is a Swiss racing driver currently competing in the 2023 FIA Formula 2 Championship for Campos Racing. He is a race winner in the GP3 Series and has previously competed in Formula 2 from 2017 to 2023, for Campos, MP Motorsport and Trident.
Richard Bastiaan Verschoor is a Dutch racing driver currently competing for Van Amersfoort Racing in the Formula 2 Championship. Verschoor graduated to Formula 2 in 2021 with MP Motorsport before switching to Charouz Racing System, and moved to Trident for 2022 after two years in the FIA Formula 3 Championship with MP Motorsport.
David Alexander Beckmann is a German professional racing driver currently competing as a substitute driver in Formula E with Avalanche Andretti Formula E. He previously competed in the FIA Formula 2 Championship for Charouz Racing System, Campos Racing and Van Amersfoort Racing.
Enzo Fittipaldi da Cruz is a Brazilian-American racing driver, who is currently competing in the FIA Formula 2 Championship with Carlin. After signing with Carlin, he became a member of the Red Bull Junior Team in November 2022, and was a previous member of the Ferrari Driver Academy. Fittipaldi was the 2018 Italian F4 champion and 2019 Formula Regional European runner-up. He then spent nearly two seasons in Formula 3 before being promoted to Formula 2 with Charouz Racing System.
Lirim Zendeli is a German racing driver of Macedonian-Albanian descent who currently competes in the 2023 USF Pro 2000 Championship with TJ Speed Motorsports. He last competed as a substitute driver for Campos Racing in Formula 2. He competed in the FIA Formula 3 Championship with Charouz Racing System in 2019 as the reigning German Formula 4 champion. After the 2019 F3 season, Zendeli competed in the 2020 Toyota Racing Series in New Zealand before joining Trident for the 2020 FIA Formula 3 Championship, where he won a race at Spa. He made the step up to Formula 2 in 2021 with MP Motorsport.
