Richard Bastiaan Verschoor is a Dutch racing driver currently competing for Van Amersfoort Racing in the Formula 2 Championship. Verschoor graduated to Formula 2 in 2021 with MP Motorsport before switching to Charouz Racing System, and moved to Trident for 2022 after two years in the FIA Formula 3 Championship with MP Motorsport.
Marcus John Armstrong is a New Zealand motor racing driver. He is competing in the NTT IndyCar Series on road and street courses with Chip Ganassi Racing in 2023. Previously he competed in the FIA Formula 2 Championship between 2020 and 2022. He was a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy between 2017 and 2021.
Jehan Daruvala is an Indian racing driver currently driving for MP Motorsport in Formula 2 and currently set to race for Maserati MSG Racing in Formula E in 2024. He was a protégé of the Force India F1 team, after being one of three winners of a 'One in a Billion hunt' organized by the team in 2011. He is also a former member of the Red Bull Junior Team.
Robert Mikhailovich Shwartzman is a Russo-Israeli racing driver who currently competes in the 2023 GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup, driving for AF Corse. He also serves as a reserve driver for the Scuderia Ferrari Formula One team. Shwartzman previously competed in the FIA Formula 2 Championship in 2020 and 2021 where he finished 4th and 2nd respectively. The 2021 FIA Formula 2 Championship was a motor racing championship for Formula 2 cars that was sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). The championship was the fifty-fifth season of Formula 2 racing and the fifth season run under the FIA Formula 2 Championship moniker. It was an open-wheel racing category that served as the second tier of formula racing in the FIA Global Pathway. The category was run in support of selected rounds of the 2021 FIA Formula One World Championship. As the championship was a spec series, all teams and drivers competing in the championship ran the same car, the Dallara F2 2018. The championship was contested over twenty-four races at eight circuits. It began in March 2021 with a round in support of the Bahrain Grand Prix, and ended in December where it supported the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

The 2021 Sochi Formula 2 round the sixth round of the 2021 Formula 2 Championship and took place at the Sochi Autodrom from 24 to 25 September. It ran in support of the 2021 Russian Grand Prix and was planned to feature three races. However, the second sprint race was cancelled amid bad weather conditions. This is the first cancelled Formula 2 race since the cancellation of the feature race during the 2019 Spa-Francorchamps FIA Formula 2 round due to Anthoine Hubert's fatal accident.
The 2021 Jeddah Formula 2 round was the penultimate race of the 2021 Formula 2 Championship and occurred at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit from 3 to 5 December. It was run in support of the 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix and featured three races. The feature race was marred by the crash between Théo Pourchaire and Enzo Fittipaldi where both were hospitalised.
