The 2023 Minnesota Twins season was the 63rd season for the Minnesota Twins franchise in the Twin Cities of Minnesota, their 14th season at Target Field, and the 123rd overall in the American League. [1] [2]

Contents

With a shutout win over the Chicago White Sox on September 17, the Twins improved on their 78–84 record from the 2022 season. After a 8–6 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on September 22, the Twins clinched their first American League Central title and playoff appearance since the 2020 season. They defeated the Toronto Blue Jays in two games in the ALWCS. Their game 1 victory was their first playoff win since 2004, snapping an 18 game playoff losing streak. [3] Their series victory was their first since 2002. [4] However, they were defeated by the Houston Astros in the ALDS in four games.
