The 2023 North Carolina Education Lottery 200 was the 11th stock car race of the 2023 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, the first race of the Triple Truck Challenge, and the 20th iteration of the event. The race was held on Friday, May 26, 2023, in Concord, North Carolina at Charlotte Motor Speedway, a 1.5 miles (2.4 km) permanent tri-oval shaped racetrack. The race took the scheduled 134 laps to complete. Ben Rhodes, driving for ThorSport Racing, took advantage of a pit road strategy, and dominated the final portion of the race to earn his 7th career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series win, and his first of the season. He also earns the additional $50,000 for winning the first Triple Truck Challenge race. Corey Heim and Carson Hocevar dominated the majority of the race, leading 49 and 43 laps, respectively. [1] To fill out the podium, Heim, driving for Tricon Garage, and Dean Thompson, driving for Tricon Garage, would finish 2nd and 3rd, respectively.

Background

Charlotte Motor Speedway (previously known as Lowe's Motor Speedway from 1999 to 2009) is a motorsport complex located in Concord, North Carolina, 13-mile (21 km) outside Charlotte. The complex features a 1.500 mi (2.414 km) quad oval track that hosts NASCAR racing including the prestigious Coca-Cola 600 on Memorial Day weekend, and the Bank of America Roval 400. The speedway was built in 1959 by Bruton Smith and is considered the home track for NASCAR with many race teams located in the Charlotte area. The track is owned and operated by Speedway Motorsports with Greg Walter as track president.

The 2,000 acres (8.1 km2) complex also features a state-of-the-art 0.250 mi (0.402 km) drag racing strip, ZMAX Dragway. It is the only all-concrete, four-lane drag strip in the United States and hosts NHRA events. Alongside the drag strip is a state-of-the-art clay oval that hosts dirt racing including the World of Outlaws finals among other popular racing events.

Qualifying

Qualifying was held on Friday, May 26, at 2:05 PM EST. [2] Since Charlotte Motor Speedway is an intermediate racetrack, the qualifying system used is a single-car, one-lap system with only one round. In that round, whoever sets the fastest time will win the pole. The 2023 Tyson 250 was the 10th stock car race of the 2023 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, and the inaugural iteration of the event. The race is scheduled to be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023, in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina at North Wilkesboro Speedway, a 0.625 miles (1.006 km) permanent oval-shaped racetrack. The race was increased from 250 to 252 laps, due to a NASCAR overtime finish. In a wreck-filled race that caused twelve cautions, Kyle Larson, driving for Spire Motorsports, would put on a dominating performance, winning stage two and leading 138 laps, earning his third career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series win, and his first of the season. To fill out the podium, Ty Majeski, driving for ThorSport Racing, and Matt DiBenedetto, driving for Rackley WAR, would finish 2nd and 3rd, respectively.

The 2023 Alsco Uniforms 300 was the 12th stock car race of the 2023 NASCAR Xfinity Series, and the 42nd iteration of the event. The race was held in Concord, North Carolina at Charlotte Motor Speedway, a 1.5 miles (2.4 km) tri-oval shaped racetrack. It was originally scheduled to be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023, but due to constant rain showers, the race was postponed until Monday, May 29, immediately following the Coca-Cola 600 Cup Series race on the same day. The race took the scheduled 200 laps to complete. Justin Allgaier, driving for JR Motorsports, was able to stretch out his fuel mileage during the final 20 laps, and earn his 20th career NASCAR Xfinity Series win, and his first of the season. Allgaier dominated the majority of the race as well, leading a race-high 83 laps. To fill out the podium, John Hunter Nemechek, driving for Joe Gibbs Racing, and Cole Custer, driving for Stewart-Haas Racing, would finish 2nd and 3rd, respectively.

The 2023 General Tire 150 was the 5th stock car race of the 2023 ARCA Menards Series season, and the 13th iteration of the event. The race was held on Friday, May 26, 2023, in Concord, North Carolina at Charlotte Motor Speedway, a 1.5 mile (2.4 km) permanent tri-oval shaped racetrack. The race was increased from 100 to 103 laps, due to a NASCAR overtime finish. Jesse Love, driving for Venturini Motorsports, would hold off the field on the final restart, and earned his 5th career ARCA Menards Series win, and his third consecutive win of the season. Love dominated the majority of the race as well, leading a race-high 67 laps. To fill out the podium, Dean Thompson, driving for Venturini Motorsports, and Taylor Gray, driving for Tricon Garage, would finish 2nd and 3rd, respectively.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2023 Rackley Roofing 200</span> 13th race of the 2023 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series

The 2023 Rackley Roofing 200 was the 13th stock car race of the 2023 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, the third and final race of the Triple Truck Challenge, and the 3rd iteration of the event. The race was held on Friday, June 23, 2023, in Gladeville, Tennessee at Nashville Superspeedway, a 1.333 miles (2.145 km) permanent tri-oval shaped racetrack. The race took the scheduled 150 laps to complete. Carson Hocevar, driving for Niece Motorsports, would hold off Zane Smith and a fast-charging Nick Sanchez on the final lap, and earned his second career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series win, and his second of the season. Corey Heim dominated the majority of the race, leading a race-high 57 laps. To fill out the podium, Smith, driving for Front Row Motorsports, and Sanchez, driving for Rev Racing, would finish 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
