The 2024 FIA European Rallycross Championship was the 49th season of the FIA European Rallycross Championship. The championship consisted of three classes: RX1, RX2e and RX3.
The championship began on 6 July at the Höljesbanan in Sweden, and ended on 8 September at Pista Automóvel de Montalegre in Portugal. Patrick O'Donovan won his first RX1 title. [1] Nils Andersson won his second consecutive RX2e title. [2] Nils Volland won his first RX3 title. [3]
On 28 February 2024, the 2024 calendar was announced. [4] The championship was slated to return to the Circuit d'Essay for the first time since 2011, [5] but the event was cancelled on the 30th of May 2024. [6]

Rallycross is a form of sprint style motorsport, held on a closed mixed-surface racing circuit, with modified production or specially built touring cars. It is mainly popular in the Nordic countries, the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Great Britain. An inexpensive, entry level type of rallycross is the Swedish folkrace or its Norwegian counterpart, the so-called bilcross. The folkrace is most popular in Finland where it was founded back in the late 1960s. In Europe, rallycross can also refer to racing 1:8 scale off-road radio-controlled buggies.
The FIA World Rallycross Championship is a rallycross series organised by the FIA in conjunction with series promoter Rallycross Promoter GmbH. From the inaugural season in 2014 to 2020, IMG Motorsport fulfilled the role of promoter.
The 2014 FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy was the first edition of the FIA World Rallycross Championship. The season consisted of twelve rounds and started on 3 May with the Portuguese round at Montalegre. The season came to end on 23 November, at San Luis, Argentina.
The World RX of Portugal is a rallycross event held in Portugal that is part of the FIA World Rallycross Championship. The event made its debut in the championship's inaugural 2014 season, at the Pista Automóvel de Montalegre in the northern town of Montalegre, close to the Spanish border. It was removed from the series calendar ahead of the 2019 season, marking the first time in the championship's history that the event was not run. The event was set to return in 2020 but was later cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On 12 May 2021; it was announced that the event would return in 2021 instead of the World RX of Norway as the final round of the calendar. For 2022 season Montalegre’s layout has been re-profiled, with the old joker lap now the first corner and a new, gravel joker from Turns Two to Five.
The 2015 FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy was the second season of the FIA World Rallycross Championship. The season consisted of thirteen rounds and started on 25 April with the Portuguese round at Montalegre. The season ended on 29 November, at Rosario, Santa Fe in Argentina.

The season commencing on 1 April with the Spanish round at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, and culminating on 1 October in Germany at the Estering.
