  2025 Seasons

The 2026 Houston Astros season is the 65th season for the Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise located in Houston, Texas, their 63rd as the Astros, 14th in both the American League (AL) and AL West division, and 27th at Daikin Park.

Contents

Houston is one of four host cities for the 2026 World Baseball Classic (WBC) tournament, with games to take place at Daikin Park.

Offseason

The Houston Astros concluded the 2025 season with an 87–75 record, narrowly missing the playoffs along with a fifth consecutive AL West division championship. This ended a franchise-record eight-consecutive seasons with a playoff appearance. They ranked second in the AL West and three games behind the division-champion Seattle Mariners. To qualify for the playoffs as a Wild Card, the Astros had tied the Detroit Tigers with identical 87–75 records for the third and final Wild Card position. However, as Detroit won the season series, they retained the tiebreaker to qualify instead of Houston. [1]

The 2026 World Baseball Classic (WBC) will take place in Tokyo, Miami, San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Houston. In Houston, Daikin Park will host all 10 Pool B games from March 6–11, 2026, and the quarterfinals. [2]
