2061 Anza, provisional designation 1960 UA, is an eccentric asteroid of the Amor group, a subtype of near-Earth objects, estimated to measure approximately 2.7 kilometers in diameter. It was discovered on 22 October 1960, by American astronomer Henry Giclas at Lowell's Flagstaff Observatory in Arizona, United States. [6] The asteroid was later named after Spanish explorer Juan Bautista de Anza. [2]
Anza is an Amor asteroid – a subgroup of near-Earth asteroids that approach the orbit of Earth from beyond, but do not cross it. Orbiting the Sun at a distance of 1.1–3.5 AU once every 3 years and 5 months (1,247 days), its orbit has an eccentricity of 0.54 and an inclination of 4° with respect to the ecliptic. [1] Due to its high eccentricity, Anza also classifies as a Mars-crosser. The body's observation arc begins with its official discovery observation. [6]
The asteroid has an Earth minimum orbit intersection distance (MOID) of 0.0570 AU (8,530,000 km) which correspond to 22.2 lunar distances. On 7 October 1960, it passed Earth at 0.0634 AU (9,480,000 km) and was tracked for a period of 3.5 months to determine a better orbit. It was not observed again until its next near-Earth approach of 1977. [6]
In the Tholen classification, Anza has a rare TCG: spectral type. [1]
In the 1960s, a rotational lightcurve of Anza was obtained from photometric observations taken at the discovering observatory by Austrian astronomer Karl Rakos from Graz University Observatory ( 580 ). Lightcurve analysis gave a rotation period of 11.50 hours with a brightness amplitude of 0.3 magnitude ( U=2 ). [5] No additional lightcurves have been obtained since. [4]
According to Tom Gehrels publication in his book Hazards Due to Comets and Asteroids, Anza measures 2.6 kilometers in diameter, [1] [3] while the Collaborative Asteroid Lightcurve Link assumes a standard albedo for carbonaceous asteroids of 0.057 and calculates a diameter of 2.71 kilometers based on an absolute magnitude of 16.56. [4]
This minor planet was named after Juan Bautista de Anza (1736–1788), Spanish explorer and Governor of Santa Fe de Nuevo México for the Spanish Empire in the 18th century, now the U.S state of New Mexico. He was born in Tucson, Arizona, then New Spain, and became the commander at the Spanish fortification Presidio San Ignacio de Tubac before he explored the first overland route from southern Arizona to California (Monterey). The assumed S-type asteroid is one of few low-numbered asteroids for which no rotation period has been determined. It was assigned the provisional designation 1932 EA1 and named for Cupid, also known as "Amor" in Latin, the Roman equivalent of the Greek god Eros.
2059 Baboquivari, provisional designation 1963 UA, is an asteroid classified as near-Earth object of the Amor group, approximately 1.9 kilometers in diameter. Discovered by the Indiana Asteroid Program in 1963, it was later named after the Baboquivari Mountains in Arizona, United States.

6344 P-L is an unnumbered, sub-kilometer asteroid and suspected dormant comet, classified as near-Earth object and potentially hazardous asteroid of the Apollo group that was first observed on 24 September 1960, by astronomers and asteroid searchers Tom Gehrels, Ingrid van Houten-Groeneveld, and Cornelis Johannes van Houten during the Palomar–Leiden survey at Palomar Observatory.
3988 Huma, provisional designation 1986 LA, is an eccentric sub-kilometer asteroid and near-Earth object of the Amor group. It was discovered on 4 June 1986, by American astronomer Eleanor Helin at Palomar Observatory, California. The asteroid measures approximately 700 to 800 meters in diameter and was named after the Huma bird from Iranian mythology.

(5496) 1973 NA, is a very eccentric and heavily tilted asteroid, classified as near-Earth object of the Apollo group, approximately 2 kilometers in diameter. It was discovered on 4 July 1973, by American astronomer Eleanor Helin at the U.S. Palomar Observatory in California. At the time of its discovery, it was the most highly inclined minor planet known to exist. It may be the parent body of the Quadrantids.
(6037) 1988 EG, is an eccentric, stony asteroid, classified as near-Earth object and potentially hazardous asteroid. It belongs to the group of Apollo asteroids and measures approximately half a kilometer in diameter. It was discovered by American astronomer Jeff T. Alu at the U.S. Palomar Observatory, California, on 12 March 1988.

It was discovered on 3 September 2002, by the Campo Imperatore Near-Earth Object Survey (CINEOS) at the Italian Campo Imperatore Observatory, located in the Abruzzo region, east of Rome.
11885 Summanus is a dark asteroid and large near-Earth object of the Apollo group. It was discovered by astronomers with the Spacewatch programm at Kitt Peak Observatory on 25 September 1990. The object has a rotation period of 7.3 hours and measures approximately 1.3 kilometers in diameter. It was named after Summanus, the Roman deity of nocturnal lightning and thunder.
