Adabari is a locality in Guwahati. [1]

Geography

To the north and east of Adabari are Pandu and Kamakhya respectively; to its west is NH 27, and to its south lies Assam Trunk Road and the Kamakhya Junction railway station.

Location

It is connected by air through the LGBI Airport, and by rail through Kamakhya Junction. Surrounded by the localities of Jalukbari and Maligaon, it is a busy commercial area of the city. The place directly connects to the NH 37. Adabari is major hub of transportation with regular vehicles plying to other districts of lower Assam from the bus depot.

Adabari Tiniali is a busy three point-junction in the locality. The roads meeting there are the Pandu Port Road (Pranabananda Sarani), Assam Trunk Road and the lane leading into Kamakhya Nagar.

Amenities

It has four-wheeler showrooms of Maruti Suzuki (Bimal Auto Agency) and Hyundai (Saraighat Hyundai), and a two-wheeler showroom of Honda (Bimal Honda). The Grocer Supermarket is the major grocery departmental store in the area. Adding to the place is a memorial of late Bhupen Hazarika at the Jalukbari intersection, [2] and NCS Square Mall, a shopping complex in the area, which hosts a PVR Inox screen [3] among other retail outlets.

The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region is a Government of India ministry, established in September 2001, which functions as the nodal Department of the Central Government to deal with matters related to the socio-economic development of the eight States of Northeast India: Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim. Assam is the main and oldest state in the North-East Region of India and as the gateway to the rest of the Seven Sister States. The land of red river and blue hills, Assam comprises three main geographical areas: the Brahmaputra Valley which stretching along the length of the Brahmaputra river, the Barak Valley extending like a tail, and the intervening Karbi Plateau and North Cachar Hills. Assam shares its border with Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram and West Bengal; and there are National Highways leading to their capital cities. Prof Bhabananda Deka was a pioneer Assam economist and author who conducted novel research on the economy of the far eastern part of India. He was also a leading Indian-Assamese litterateur of the famed 'Awahon-Ramdhenu Era' of Assamese literature during the mid-20th century. He was the author of a total of 115 English and Assamese books including textbooks on a range of fifteen subjects including economics, ancient Assamese literature, philosophy, education, religion, mythology, archaeology, tribal study, poetry, drama, memoirs, civics, political science, biographies; he also edited books and journals. He also authored a variety of research papers and articles about the state of Assam, a state in the north-eastern part of India. He pioneered the writing of books on Economics in Assamese. His Assamese book Axomor Arthaneeti was the first ever research-based comprehensive book on Assam Economics, which was published for the first time in 1963. He was conferred with the honorary title of 'Asom Ratna' -- 'Jewel of Assam' by the intellectuals of Assam on 19 August 2007 at a public meet held under the presidency of Prof. (Dr) Satyendra Narayan Goswami.

Sarita Vihar is a posh residential colony situated in South East Delhi, India. It is near the Kalindi Kunj- Noida Toll bridge or GD Birla Marg-Road 13A which connects the district to Noida. It is believed that the site was primarily chosen as the construction site for the Games Village of the 1982 Asian Games, however on the insistence of the late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, the plan was changed to convert it into an upscale residential housing locality. MG Road or Mahatma Gandhi Road formerly known as James Street is one of the busiest roads of the city of Indore and a foremost shopping district in the city. It is spread over 8.6 km. Starting from Devi Ahilyabai Holkar International Airport it leads to the life line of city i.e. A.B. Road on Palasia Square. Major landmarks include Indore High Court, Regal Square, Gandhi Hall, Treasure Island, Chhappan Dukaan, Jail Road, Kothari Market, Rajwada and Khajuri Bazaar.

Situated at 26°09΄N latitude and 91°41΄ E longitude, Maligaon Chariali is the focal -point of Maligaon, in Guwahati. It is located between Jalukbari Point and Kamakhya foot hill of famous Kamakhya Temple. The road passing through Maligaon earlier was called Assam Trunk Road and during ist tenure of AGP, the road has been christened as the Dinesh Goswami Road. The word ‘chariali’ in Assamese means ‘a place where four roads meet. Towards the west from Maligaon Chariali one finds the Dinesh Goswami road approaching Jalukbari via Adabari, while towards the east, one approaches Kamakhya foot hill. A few decades back Maligaon was not part of Guwahati but of Pandu; from 1975 Maligaon became part of Guwahati. The Padmanath Gohain Baruah Road runs from Maligaon Chariali to NH-37 at Tetelia via Maligaon Goshala. The fourth road is the one that originates at Maligaon Chariali and runs northwest towards Pandu Cabin, touching Aruna Cinema Hall and Pandu College on the way. The Jalukbari Police Station lies at this corner of the Chariali. A foot overbridge for pedestrians has been inaugurated in early 2013.

East-West Industrial Corridor Highway of Arunachal Pradesh, a 2-lane and 966.78 km long including existing 274.20 km Pasighat-Manmao route, is a proposed highway across lower foothills of Arunachal Pradesh state in India from Bhairabkunda in Assam at tri-junction of Bhutan-Assam-Arunachal Pradesh in west to Kanubari tri-junction of Nagaland-Assam-Arunachal Pradesh in east.
