Anakkayam is an outgrowth of Malappuram city in Kerala, India. A major portion of Pandallur hills (a hill in the central part of Malappuram district, which was the boundary between Eranad and Walluvanad Taluks in Malabar District under British Raj) lie in this area. Anakkayam Grama Panchayat has two revenue villages -Anakkayam and Pandallur. There are 23 wards in anakkayam gram panchayat
Malappuram is one of the 14 districts in the Indian state of Kerala, with a coastline of 70 km (43 mi). It is the most populous district of Kerala, which is home to around 13% of the total population of the state. The district was formed on 16 June 1969, spanning an area of about 3,554 km2 (1,372 sq mi). It is the third-largest district of Kerala by area, as well as the largest district in the state bounded by Western Ghats and Arabian Sea to the two sides. Malappuram is the third major contributing district to the Gross State Domestic Product of Kerala as of 2019, after Ernakulam and Thiruvananthapuram. The district is divided into seven Taluks - Eranad, Kondotty, Nilambur, Perinthalmanna, Ponnani, Tirur, and Tirurangadi. Economically booming towns in Malappuram district include Malappuram, Manjeri, Tirur, Ponnani, Perinthalmanna, Kottakkal, Nilambur, Parappanangadi, Tanur, Kondotty, Valanchery, Tirurangadi, Chemmad, Edappal, Wandoor, Areekode, Edakkara, Chungathara, Kalikavu, and Puthanathani. Having 12 municipalities in total, the district has the second-highest number of Municipal towns in the state lying just behind Ernakulam (13).
Nilambur is a major town, a municipality and a Taluk in the Malappuram district of the Indian state of Kerala. It is located close to the Nilgiris range of the Western Ghats on the banks of the Chaliyar River. This place is also known as 'Teak Town' because of the abundance of Nilambur teaks in this area; Which is a variety of a large, deciduous tree that occurs in mixed hardwood forests. Unlike many Municipalities of India; Nilambur is covered with large amounts of vegetation making it close to nature and hence make it very scenic and inspiring.
Manjeri is a major town and municipality in Malappuram district, Kerala, India. It is the fourth-most populous municipality in state. It is situated 23 kilometres (14 mi) southeast to Karipur International Airport and 13 kilometres (8.1 mi) northeast to Malappuram, the district headquarters, and forms a part of Malappuram metropolitan area. It is one of the major commercial towns under the Malappuram urban agglomeration and serves as the headquarters of Eranad Taluk. Manjeri Municipality is a Local Self Government Institution with a jurisdiction of three villages namely Manjeri, Payyanad, and Narukara.

Agricultural Research Station, Anakkayam is a research Station under the Central Zone of Kerala Agricultural University at Anakkayam in Malappuram district of Kerala, India. It was established in 1963 as a cashew research station and has an area of 9.92 ha under it. ARS Anakkayam maintains 216 hybrids of 18 parental combinations. Anakkayam - 1, Dharasree and Mrudula are the three cashew cultivars released for cultivation from this station.

The Kuttippuram Block Panchayat is the block-level administrative body that administers the region around Kuttippuram in Malappuram district, Kerala, India. It is also one of the 15 Block Panchayats established for the proper block-level administration of Gram panchayats in the district. Established in 1962, the block's current president is Vaseema Veleri since 2020. Kuttippuram Block Panchayat lies in two assembly constituencies – Kottakkal and Tirur – both of which are part of the Ponnani parliamentary constituency. The Block is headed by a President and council, and manages 155.83 km2 of Kuttippuram block, with a population of about 229,468 within that area.
