Release and promotion

In February 2014, the duo announced that they were working on a second studio album. [11] "Push Pull" was released as the first single from the album on December 3, 2014. [12] On January 13, 2015, the album's second single, "Begin Again", was released, along with the formal reveal of the album's title, cover, and track listing. [13] On January 23, 2015, Roddick played "Repetition" and "Bodyache" during a DJ set on Pitchfork Radio. "Bodyache" was released as the album's third single on February 26, 2015.

The music video of "Begin Again" was released exclusively through Apple Music on October 12, 2015. [14]

The first two mini-albums of what was dubbed the Body Talk series, Body Talk Pt. 1 and Body Talk Pt. 2, were released in June and September 2010. While being a separate studio album in its own right, the full-length release also serves as a compilation album, containing the "best songs" from the first two entries in the Body Talk series in addition to five new songs. In certain territories, the new songs were also available separately as an extended play released the same day, titled Body Talk Pt. 3. The four songs and two acoustic versions from the project that were excluded from the original track listing were later included on the German iTunes and 2019 Record Store Day vinyl versions of the album.

Purity Ring is a Canadian electronic pop band from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, formed in 2010. The band consists of multi-instrumentalist/producer Corin Roddick and vocalist Megan James. The duo was scheduled to tour North America in support of the album from May to September 2020, but it was postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 lockdowns.
