Hugo Sánchez Márquez is a Mexican former professional footballer and manager, who played as a forward. A prolific goalscorer known for his spectacular strikes and volleys, he is widely regarded as the greatest Mexican footballer of all time, one of the best players of his generation, and one of the best strikers of all time. In 1999, the International Federation of Football History and Statistics voted Sánchez the 26th best footballer of the 20th century, and the best footballer from the CONCACAF region. In 2004, Sánchez was named in the FIFA 100 list of the world's greatest living players.
The 1975 Pan American Games, officially known as the VII Pan American Games and commonly known as Mexico 1975, were held in Mexico City, Mexico, from October 12 to October 26, 1975, exactly twenty years after the second Pan American Games were held there. It was the third major sporting event held in the Mexican capital in seven years, after the 1968 Summer Olympics and the 1970 FIFA World Cup.
The seventh edition of the football tournament at the Pan American Games was held in four cities in Mexico: Mexico City, Guadalajara, Toluca, and Puebla, from 13 October to 25 October 1975. Thirteen teams competed in a round-robin competition, with Argentina defending the title. After the preliminary round there was a second round, followed by a knock-out stage.

The 1975 New Mexico State Aggies football team was an American football team that represented New Mexico State University in the Missouri Valley Conference during the 1975 NCAA Division I football season. In their third year under head coach Jim Bradley, the Aggies compiled a 5–6 record. The team played its home games at Memorial Stadium in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
