The final of the Men's Shot Put event at the 2003 Pan American Games took place on Tuesday August 5, 2003. USA's Reese Hoffa set a new Pan American Games record in the final, with a distance of 20.95 metres.

Kim Collins Saint Kitts and Nevis sprinter

Kim Collins is a former track and field sprinter from Saint Kitts and Nevis. In 2003, he became the World Champion in the 100 metres. He represented his country at the Summer Olympics on five occasions, from 1996 to 2016, and was the country's first athlete to reach an Olympic final. He competed at ten editions of the World Championships in Athletics, from 1995 to 2015, winning five medals. He was twice runner-up in the 60 metres at the IAAF World Indoor Championships.
