The BYD G5 is a compact sedan that was produced by the Chinese automaker BYD.

Overview

The BYD G5 debuted at the April 2014 Beijing Auto Show and was launched in September 2014. Price ranges from 75.900 yuan to 102.900 yuan. Based on a stretched platform of the BYD F3, the BYD G5 is positioned slightly above the compact BYD F3 and below the mid-size BYD G6. A hybrid variant was expected to be revealed in 2015 with the hybrid drivetrain, the 1.5 L turbo, and a 149 hp (111 kW) and 200 N⋅m (148 lb⋅ft) electric motor. [1] [2] [3]

The BYD F3DM (Dual-mode) is a plug-in hybrid compact sedan manufactured by BYD with an all-electric range of 60 kilometres (37 mi) and a hybrid electric powertrain that can extend the range an additional 480 kilometres (300 mi). The F3DM is the world's first mass-produced plug-in hybrid automobile and went on sale to government agencies and corporations in China on December 15, 2008. During its first year in the market the F3DM plug-in sold only 48 vehicles. Sales to the general public began in Shenzhen in March 2010, and 417 units were sold during 2010. Cumulative sales in China reached 3,284 units through October 2013, when sales ended, and only 11 units were sold in Europe through October 2012.

Shenzhen BYD New Energy Co., Ltd., trading as Denza, is an automobile manufacturing company headquartered in Shenzhen, China, specialising in luxury electric cars and a joint venture between BYD Auto Industry and the Mercedes-Benz Group. Founded in May 2010, in late 2014 the company introduced its first model, the Denza EV. The car was initially put on sale in selected Chinese cities only. In late 2021, Denza underwent a restructuring as Mercedes-Benz reduced its share to 10%, while BYD held the rest.

The BYD Seal 07 DM-i, previously the BYD Seal DM-i until 2024 is a plug-in hybrid full-size sedan manufactured by BYD Auto since 2023. It was introduced in a prototype form at Auto Shanghai as the BYD Destroyer 07, and was renamed to integrate it with the Seal series of sedans. Sold through Ocean Network dealerships, the Seal DM-i is positioned in the BYD's range as a cheaper alternative to the similar BYD Han, which belongs to Dynasty Network dealerships. It went on sale in September 2023 in China.
