Buno Bedele Zone

Buno Bedele (also Buno Bedelle; Oromo : Buunoo Beddellee) is one of the zones of the Oromia Region in Ethiopia. Located in western Oromia, Buno Bedele is bordered on the south by Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples Region, on the west by the Ilu Aba Bora Zone, on the north by the East Wollega Zone and West Wollega Zone and on the east by the Jimma Zone. Its administrative center is Bedele. [1]

The Buno Bedele was created by 9 districts and 1 town in March 2016. The Zone covers 5,856.5030 square kilometres of which 1,126.64 square kilometres are covered by forests.

Demographics

Based on the 2007 Census conducted by the Central Statistical Agency of Ethiopia, this Zone has a total population 829,663. [2]

Towns in Dega include Dega and Mako. Mako woreda was part of Dega woreda.

Bedele nanowa is one of the woredas in the Oromia Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Illubabor Zone, Bedele Zuria is bordered on the south by Gechi, on the southwest by Chora, on the west by Dega, on the north by the southern exclave of the Benishangul-Gumuz Region, on the northeast by the Didessa River which separates it from the Misraq Welega Zone, and on the southeast by Gechi. Towns in Bedele Zuria include Bedele. Bedele Zuria, Chewaka, Dabo Hana woredas and Bedele town were part of former Bedele woreda.

Part of the Buno Bedele Zone, Gechi is bordered on the south by Didessa, on the east by the Jimma Zone, on the north by Bedele, and on the east by the Didessa River which separates it from the Jimma Zone. Gechi town is the administrative center of Gechi woreda. Borecha woreda was part of Gechi.

Didessa is one of the woredas in the Oromia Region of Ethiopia. It is named after the Didessa River, a tributary of the Abay River. Part of the Illubabor Zone, Didessa is bordered on the south by the Didessa River which separates it from the Jimma Zone, and on the north by Gechi. The major town in Didessa is Denbi.

Yayo is one of the districts in the Oromia Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Illubabor Zone, Yayo is bordered on the south by the Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Region, on the west by Matu, on the north by Supena Sodo, on the east by Chora, and on the southeast by the Jimma Zone. Towns in Yayo include Elemo and Yayo. Doreni and Hurumu districts were part of Yayo district.

Berek is a woreda or district in Oromia Region, Ethiopia. It was part of the former Berek Aleltu woreda which was separated for Aleltu and Berek woredas and Sendafa Town. Part of the Oromia Special Zone Surrounding Finfinne, Berek is bordered on the south by the Akaki and East Shewa Zone, on the southwest by the city of Addis Ababa, on the west by Sululta, on the north by North Shewa Zone, and on the east by the Amhara Region.

Yaya Gulele is a woreda in Oromia Region, Ethiopia. It was part of former Yaya Gulelena Tulluu Liban which was separated from Liban woreda and Yaya Gulele district. Part of the North Shewa Zone, Yaya Gulele is bordered on the south by Mulona Sululta, on the southwest by the Muger River which separates it from the West Shewa Zone, on the west by Degem, on the north by Gerar Jarso, on the north east by Liban woreda, and on the east by Wuchale. Towns in Yaya Gulele include Fital.

Agarfa is a woreda in Oromia Region, Ethiopia, named for its administrative center, Agarfa. Located in the northwestern corner of the Bale Zone, Agarfa is bordered on the south by Sinanana Dinsho, on the west by west Arsi zone, on the north by the Shabelle River which separates it from the Arsi Zone, and on the east by Gaserana Gololcha. Other towns in Agarfa include Ali, Agarfa town, Ambentu.

Bedele is a town and separate Aanaa in south-western Ethiopia. Located in the Buno Bedele Zone of the Oromia Region, this town has a longitude and latitude of 8°27′N36°21′E and an elevation between 2,012–2,162 metres (6,601–7,093 ft) above sea level.

Gimbi (ጊምቢ) is a town in western Oromia Region, Ethiopia. Located in the West Welega Zone, it has a latitude and longitude of 9°10′N35°50′E with an elevation between 1845 and 1930 meters above sea level. It is the administrative center of Gimbi woreda.

Aira is one of the Aanaas in the Oromia of Ethiopia. It is part of the West Welega Zone. It was separated from former Aira Gulliso woreda in November 1999. It is bounded by Gulliso in the north, Yubdo in southeast and Kelem Wollega Zone in the south and west. Aira is the administrative center.

Kellem Wollega is one of the zones of the Oromia Region in Ethiopia. This zone is named after the former province of Wollega, whose western part lay in the area Kellem Wollega now occupies. Kellem Wollega was formed of woredas which included to West Wollega Zone.

Chewaka is one of the woredas in the Oromia Region of Ethiopia. It is part of the Buno Bedele Zone.
