Carolina Transfer and Storage Company Building is a historic warehouse building located at Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, United States. It was built in 1927, and is a four-story, flat-slab construction building with brick infill. The building has a flat roof and parapet. [2]

It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999. [1]

The Bright Leaf Historic District is a national historic district located at Durham, Durham County, North Carolina. It encompasses 22 contributing buildings and seven contributing structures in an industrial section of Durham. The majority of the buildings were built from the 1870s to the World War II period, and are massive two- to four-story structures, usually rectangular in form with flat or very shallow gable roofs and of fireproof construction with brick exteriors. Notable buildings include the B. L. Duke Warehouse, the Italianate style W. Partially constructed in 1869, the planned two-story structure was never completed and the mint was never put into operation. The building measures 850 feet long and 100 feet wide and features ornamental brickwork. It is an example of "slow burn" masonry and wood factory construction. It was the last of the 12 brick tobacco storage warehouses erected by The American Tobacco Company trust beginning in 1897. The building has been converted for academic and administrative uses.

Watts and Yuille Warehouses, also known as Brightleaf Square, are two historic tobacco storage warehouses located at Durham, Durham County, North Carolina. They were built in 1904, and are two identical buildings parallel to each other with a courtyard in between. They are two-story Romanesque style brick structures, seven bays wide and twenty bays long. Each unit of the warehouses is 75 feet by 118 feet, for a total of 35,400 square feet on each floor. They are an example of "slow burn" masonry and wood factory construction. They were among the 12 brick tobacco storage warehouses erected by The American Tobacco Company trust beginning in 1897. The buildings have been converted to retail and office use.

Arista Cotton Mill Complex, also known as Salem Cotton Manufacturing Company and Arista Cotton Mill and Lentz Transfer & Storage Co., is a historic cotton mill complex located at Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. The complex includes two buildings: a brick building built in 1836 by part of the Moravian congregation of Salem and the original home of the Salem Cotton Manufacturing Company, and the other is the original Arista Mill, built in 1880 by F. and H. Fries Cotton Arista Mills. The 1836 Salem Cotton Mill is a three-story, brick building with a monitor roof. The 1880 mill is a three-story brick building, 14 bays long, with bracketed eaves with timber supports. A two-story roughly triangular brick building was added about 1900. The 1836 building has been converted to a hotel known as The Historic Brookstown Inn.

John A. McKay House and Manufacturing Company is a historic home and factory complex located at Dunn, Harnett County, North Carolina. The house was built about 1840, and is a two-story, double pile, Greek Revival style frame dwelling. It features a full-facade, one-story porch and two-story, portico. Associated with the house are a barn, later remodeled with garage doors, a smokehouse, a storage/wash house, and fence. The main factory building was built in 1903, and is a two-story U-shaped building, with a two-story shed, gable roofed ell, and another ell. Other contributing factory buildings are an office (1937), two privies, McKay Manufacturing Company building (1910), trailer assembly room, steel house (1910), foundry (1910), cleaning rooms (1910), wood storage building (1935), boiler room, pattern room, and flask shop (1910).

The contributing resources are the Manufacturing Building; Shipping, Receiving, and Pipe Storage building; storage building; and rail spur line and they were developed between 1919 and 1955. The Manufacturing Building is divided into six sections, and is a large one-story brick building with a flat roof and stepped parapets It features banks of large, steel-sash factory windows. The Parks-Cramer facility was one of the region's foremost manufacturers of humidifiers and air-conditioning equipment for the new cotton mills.

It was built in 1927, and is a two-story, rectangular, reinforced concrete building on a raised concrete basement. The building has a red brick veneer, steel sash windows, and a parapet facade. The warehouse was purchased by the Ford Motor Company and converted to an auto repair establishment in 1942.

The Nan'yō Kōhatsu Kabushiki Kaisha complex was the main support base of the Nan'yō Kōhatsu Kabushiki Kaisha (NKKK) on the island Tinian in the Northern Mariana Islands. The NKKK was an economic development company established by the Empire of Japan to develop the territories of the South Seas Mandate, which it oversaw between the First and Second World Wars. In the Northern Marianas, the company aggressively developed arable areas for sugar cane farming, importing workers from Japan, Okinawa, and Korea. Each of the three major islands had major support facility. On Tinian, this area, now roughly where the island's largest community, San Jose is located on the south coast, consisted of an extensive development, most of which was destroyed during the Battle of Tinian in the Second World War. Of this large complex, only four buildings or structures remain, all of which have been listed on the United States National Register of Historic Places, as rare surviving examples of pre-war Japanese architecture on the islands.

Carolina Power and Light Company Car Barn and Automobile Garage is a historic streetcar barn and automobile repair shop located at Raleigh, North Carolina. It built in 1925 and is a one-story, rectangular brick building in the Art Deco style. It measures 210 feet and 6 inches in length and 59 feet and 7 inches in width and features terra cotta ornamentation. The building was originally built to house the Carolina Power and Light Company's electric streetcars and buses and was converted to automotive and service vehicle storage in the 1940s.
