The Central American Cross Country Championships ( Spanish: Campeonato Centroamericano de Campo Traviesa) are an annual Cross country running competition organized by CADICA for athletes representing the countries of its member associations. They were established in 2007. Races are featured for senior (Mayor), junior (U-20, Juvenil A), youth (U-18, Juvenil B), and two age groups (U-16, (Juvenil C) starting in 2008, and U-14, (Infantil A) starting in 2012) for both male and female athletes. CADICA is the regional confederation governing body of athletics for national governing bodies and multi-national federations within Central America.

The Central American Race Walking Championships is an annual race walking competition organized by CADICA for athletes representing the countries of its member associations. The event was established in 2007 as Central American Race Walking Cup. The name was changed in 2012. Races are featured for senior, junior, youth, and two age groups for both male and female athletes. In addition, there are separate team competitions.

The Central American and Caribbean Cross Country Championships was an annual Cross country running competition organized by the CACAC for athletes representing the countries of its member associations. The competition was established in 1983 following a proposal of Wallace Williams from the Virgin Islands, then secretary of the CACAC. The rationale was that also smaller countries without adequate athletics' facilities could host such an event. The approval for the competitions' implementation was given during the 1982 CACAC meeting in Havana. The first championships were to take place in 1983 on the Virgin Islands, but because of the US invasion of Grenada, the event was postponed and relocated to Puerto Rico.

The Central American Junior and Youth Championships in Athletics is an athletics event organized by the Central American Isthmus Athletic Confederation (CADICA) open for athletes from member associations.

The Central American Age Group Championships in Athletics is an athletics event organized by the Confederación Atlética del Istmo Centroamericano CADICA open for athletes from member associations. The event is divided into the Junior C (U-16) Central American Championships and the Infantile A (U-14) Central American Championships. The Junior C category is open for girls and boys aged 14–15. The Infantile A category is open for girls and boys aged 12–13. The competition started to be open for age groups U-14 and U-12 as Campeonatos Centroamericanos Infantil. There is a report on an early competition held in the year 1984 in El Salvador. At least from 1999 on, it is verified that the competition is held annually. In 2007, the format was changed to be open for the age groups U-16 and U-14, with U-12 competitions being held occasionally. In 2012, a specific Central American "Kids Athletics" tournament was introduced for this age group.

The 2012 Central American Junior and Youth Championships in Athletics were held at the Estadio Nacional Flor Blanca "Magico Gonzalez" in San Salvador, El Salvador, between May 25–27, 2012. Organized by the Central American Isthmus Athletic Confederation (CADICA), it was the 25th edition of the Junior (U-20) and the 20th edition of the Youth (U-18) competition. A total of 83 events were contested, 42 by boys and 41 by girls. A total of 20 new championship records were set. Overall winner on points was  Costa Rica.

The 2011 Central American Junior and Youth Championships in Athletics were held at the Estadio Nacional Flor Blanca "Magico Gonzalez" in San Salvador, El Salvador, between June 18–19, 2011. Organized by the Central American Isthmus Athletic Confederation (CADICA), it was the 24th edition of the Junior (U-20) and the 19th edition of the Youth (U-18) competition. A total of 80 events were contested, 42 by boys and 38 by girls. Overall winner on points was  Costa Rica.

The 2010 Central American Junior and Youth Championships in Athletics were held at the Estadio Rommel Fernández in Ciudad de Panamá, Panamá, between May 28–29, 2010. Organized by the Central American Isthmus Athletic Confederation (CADICA), it was the 23rd edition of the Junior (U-20) and the 18th edition of the Youth (U-18) competition. A total of 82 events were contested, 43 by boys and 39 by girls. Overall winner on points was  Costa Rica.

Organized by the Central American Isthmus Athletic Confederation (CADICA), it was the 19th edition of the Junior (U-20) and the 14th edition of the Youth (U-18) competition. A total of 80 events were contested, 41 by boys and 39 by girls. Overall winner on points was  Guatemala.

Organized by the Central American Isthmus Athletic Confederation (CADICA), it was the 18th edition of the Junior (U-20) and the 13th edition of the Youth (U-18) competition. A total of 80 events were contested, 40 by boys and 40 by girls. Overall winner on points was  Costa Rica.

Organized by the Central American Isthmus Athletic Confederation (CADICA), it was the 17th edition of the Junior (U-20) and the 12th edition of the Youth (U-18) competition. A total of 84 events were contested, 43 by boys and 41 by girls. Overall winner on points was  Costa Rica.

The 2003 Central American and Caribbean Cross Country Championships took place on March 16, 2003. The races were held at the Club de Golf Acapulco in Acapulco, México.

The 2013 Central American Junior and Youth Championships in Athletics took place on May 24–26, 2013. The event was held at the Estadio Nacional in San José, Costa Rica. Organized by the Central American Isthmus Athletic Confederation (CADICA), it was the 26th edition of the Junior (U-20) and the 21st edition of the Youth (U-18) competition. A total of 83 events were contested, 20 by junior boys, 21 by junior girls, 21 by youth boys, and 21 by youth girls. A total of 22 new championship records were set. Overall winner on points was Costa Rica.

The 2014 Central American Junior and Youth Championships in Athletics took place between May 23–25, 2014. The event was held at the Estadio de Atletismo del Instituto Nicaragüense de Deportes in Managua, Nicaragua. Organized by the Central American Isthmus Athletic Confederation (CADICA), it was the 27th edition of the Junior (U-20) and the 22nd edition of the Youth (U-18) competition. A total of 86 events were contested, 22 by junior boys, 22 by junior girls, 21 by youth boys, and 21 by youth girls. A total of 17 new championship records were set. Overall winner on points was Guatemala.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2014 Central American Championships in Athletics</span> International athletics championship event

The 25th Central American Championships in Athletics were held at the Estadio Olímpico Palacio de los Deportes UNAH in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, between June 20–22, 2014.

Maurilio Castillo is a Mexican male former long-distance runner who specialised in the marathon. He represented his country at the 1991 World Championships in Athletics and finished seventh there. He holds a personal best of 2:10:47 hours set when he finished third at the Tokyo International Marathon. He was the 1992 winner at the Central American and Caribbean Cross Country Championships. Castillo also competed at the 1995 Pan American Games.
