The Chile national handball team is controlled by the Chilean Handball Federation, and takes part in international team handball competitions. It is affiliated to the IHF and the PATHF.
The Chile national handball team participated in the 2011 World Men's Handball Championship in Group D. On 13 January they played their first match against Sweden, losing 18–28. Against South Korea they lost 22–37, versus Poland 23–38, but against Slovakia they tied the game 29–29, obtaining a historic result in this competition. Finally they lost against Argentina 25–35, remaining in the last place the group with only one point.

The France national handball team is supervised by the French Handball Federation, and represents France in international matches. It is the first handball team to have held all three titles twice, and the only national team in its sport to hold six world titles and a total of eleven medals at the World Men's Handball Championship. With a total of five medals, including three gold in 2008, 2012 and 2021, France is also the most successful Handball team at the Summer Olympics. As of January 2024, they are the defending European Champions.
The Denmark men's national handball team is controlled by the Danish Handball Association and represents Denmark in international matches. They are the team with the fourth most medals won in European Championship history on the men's side behind Sweden, France and Spain, with a total of seven medals. Two of these are gold medals, two silver (2014,2024) and four bronze medals.
The Tunisian national handball team, nicknamed Les Aigles de Carthage , is the national handball team of Tunisia. It is governed by the Tunisian Handball Federation and takes part in international handball competitions.
The IHF Beach Handball World Championships is an international beach handball competition contested by the men's and women's national teams of the member federations/associations of International Handball Federation (IHF), the sport's global governing body.
The International Handball Federation (IHF) is the administrative and controlling body for handball and beach handball. IHF is responsible for the organisation of handball's major international tournaments, notably the IHF World Men's Handball Championship, which commenced in 1938, and the IHF World Women's Handball Championship, which commenced in 1957.

The South Korea women's national handball team is the national team of South Korea. Since 1984 the Korean team has not only participated constantly in Olympic Games but also ranked among the top four nations every time until 2012. They have earned two World Championship medals so far: In 1995, they also won the World Championship title in Austria/Hungary 1995 World Women's Handball Championship, they came off third to secure the bronze medal at the Croatia in 2003 World Women's Handball Championship. It is a twelve time Asian Champion, the tournament has been won by any other nation only twice.

The 2015 IHF Men's Junior World Championship was the 20th edition of the tournament and held at Brazil from 19 July to 1 August 2015. The decision to select Brazil as the host was announced 1 August 2014. France won their first title by defeating Denmark 26–24 in the final.
The 2021 IHF World Men's Handball Championship was the 27th event hosted by the International Handball Federation and held in Egypt from 13 to 31 January 2021.
The women's handball tournament at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada was held at the Exhibition Centre from July 16 to 24.
The IHF Youth Beach Handball World Championship is an international beach handball competition contested by the men's and women's youth national teams of the member federations of International Handball Federation, the sport's global governing body.
Handball competitions at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, were held from July 24 to August 5. The venue for the competition is the Sports Centre Hall 1 located at the Videna cluster. The venue also hosted judo. A total of eight men's and eight women's teams competed in each tournament. This means a total of 224 athletes are competed.
Wheelchair handball is handball played by people with varying physical disabilities that disqualify them from playing an able-bodied sport. These include spina bifida, birth defects, cerebral palsy, paralysis due to accident, amputations, and many other disabilities. The IHF Wheelchair Handball World Championship (IHF) is the governing body for this sport. It is recognized by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) as the sole competent authority in wheelchair handball worldwide.
