Chuck Whelon (born 1969)[ citation needed ] is a British, internationally published author and cartoonist, based in San Francisco, California, United States. [1]

Career

Chuck Whelon is the creator, artist and co-writer of the long-running humorous fantasy webcomic serial Pewfell, [2] which originally appeared online on Modern Tales, [3] and later became available for free on Webcomics Nation, DrunkDuck, and ComicFury. [4]

Whelon has illustrated a series of search & find titles for Buster Books, including 'Where's the Penguin?', 'Where's Santa?' and 'The Great Fairy Tale Search', [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] all of which have been translated into multiple languages. [10] [11] [12] [13] [14]

He is the author and illustrator of a large variety of children's puzzle and activity books for Dover Publications, including the "What to Doodle?" series. [15] [16] [17] [18] [19] [20] [21] [22] [23] [24] [25] [26] [27] [28] [29] [30] [31] [32] [33] [34] [35] [36] [37] [38] [39] [40] [41] [42] [ excessive citations ]

Whelon designed and illustrated the comic boardgame "Legitimacy" published by Minion Games. [43] Whelon has also illustrated a number of other boardgames for Minion, including Those Pesky Humans, [44] Grave Business, [45] 'Tahiti', [46] Nile, [47] [48] and Battle Merchants. [49] [50]

Since 2012 Whelon has written and drawn the monthly "Dr. Dig" comic strip for Cricket Media Group's 'Dig' magazine. [51]

Whelon is the cartoonist for Goodman Game's 'Dungeon Crawl Classics' Role Playing Game. [52] [53]

Whelon has also worked as an Art Director for Ogilvy & Mather, an illustrator, Flash developer and production artist. [54]

Whelon was born and raised in Basingstoke, England. [55] He is a member of the National Cartoonists Society [56] [57] and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. [58] He is represented by the Beehive Illustration Agency. [59] [60]

Whelon's current project is a crowd-funded puzzle book for kids called Wizard Pickles. [61]

Papercutz Graphic Novels is an American publisher of family-friendly comic books and graphic novels, mostly based on licensed properties such as Nancy Drew, the Hardy Boys, and Lego Ninjago. Papercutz has also published new volumes of the Golden Age-era comics series Classics Illustrated and Tales from the Crypt. In recent years they have begun publishing English translations of European all-ages comics, including The Smurfs and Asterix. They publish several titles through their imprint Super Genius.

Zavier Leslie Cabarga, popularly known as Leslie Cabarga, is an American author, illustrator, cartoonist, animator, font designer, and publication designer. A participant in the underground comix movement in the early 1970s, he has since gone on to write and/or edit over 40 books. His art style evokes images from the 1920s and 1930s, and over the years Cabarga has created many products associated with Betty Boop. His book The Fleischer Story in the Golden Age of Animation, originally published in 1976, has become the authoritative history of the Fleischer Studios.
